Patternmaker

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drape muslins and create paper and/or digital patterns based on design sketch
• Lead development fittings and manage pattern alterations
• Digitize and prepare patterns for overseas and domestic factories
• Calculate yields for development costing
• Oversee atelier material needs and maintain general upkeep of studio
• Communicate and partner with sewers and factories to ensure construction issues are addressed prior to production pass off

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 -10+ years experience in patternmaking
• Strong knowledge of draping, finishing techniques, and construction
• Ability to grasp concepts quickly and creatively to execute design intent in detail
• Technical understanding of grade rules
• Gerber experience a plus
