The Team
The Tommy Hilfiger Denim center of excellence is the main business drivers within Tommy Hilfiger Europe. Based in the Amsterdam European HQ, the team is split into 4 sub divisions for sourcing and development, Tommy Jeans, Tommy Kids, Menswear and Womenswear together with: Design, Production, Buying & Planning and Merchandising & Sales.

These 4 teams work together in an informal setting to create superbly styled and high-end quality products for the European consumer base. Tommy Hilfiger Denim center of excellence presents 4 collections per year for each division (Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter).

The Position
Reporting to the Director, Product Development & Raw Material, and the Product Development Manager is responsible for driving all TH Men Denim/ TH Womenswear.

Business from start to finish. Actively managing calendars from concept to bulk delivery, based on overall strategy, usage of TH Denim Liability, ensuring quality and deliver on KPIs, leading the Denim team in their problem solving approach and fast thinking with an entrepreneurial spirt to identify opportunities. Driving collaboration between all the different parties involved as Product development, Design, Buying & Planning, Merchandising and Vendors/Mills for a smooth workflow is essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure strategic vision is implemented by providing high-level guidance to teams through highlighting areas of attention and KPIs

  • Maintain close relationships with all vendors and mills by escalation of pressing issues (e.g. production capacities, quality standard KPIs and sustainable KPIs)

  • Responsible to implement the Sourcing Strategy at vendor and Mill level under the guidance of leadership.

  • Conduct post-season evaluation with vendors and mills, assessing the season and possible improvements and evaluate / analyze vendor performance (dashboard)

  • Ensure quality of product and achievement of margin/sustainable targets throughout the material/product development process (i.e. from initial design stage to bulk delivery), by collaborating closely with mills/vendors and cross-functional teams, guiding the Denim team

  • Managing fabric sourcing and price negotiations from start development till bulk production

  • Manage learning and development of (multidivisional) Denim Team coaching them to achieve their personal and function priorities

  • Manage PD team to ensure that all KPI’s are aligned with objectives in term of business metrics and CR metrics.

  • CR target follow up by keep the mills on the KPIs

  • Responsible for maintaining efficient workflow and product quality by creating calendars capturing a general outline of timelines for the season

  • Engage mills and vendors to follow up on the Key Milestones of the Denim Sourcing Calendar

  • Drive efficiency improvement by analyzing processes and best practices, pursuing effective structures and ways of working, and working with cross-functional team (e.g. Buying & Planning) to capture opportunities, align processes, and create synergies in ways of working

  • Collaborate with CR division & Innovation team to improve the sustainable footprint in Denim and deliver on KPI

  • Provide (ad hoc) analyses and reporting for presentations to management and key stakeholders

The Ideal Candidate:

  • 5-7 years of experience in Denim development

  • Graduated at a degree level or equivalent

  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, outlook)

  • Business English fluency (both written and verbal)

  • Is able to work in a highly productive, sometime hectic environment with a hands-on mentality being a true team player

  • Ability to travel for supplier visits
