Job Details

The Senior Analyst, Global Logistics COE is part of the Center of Excellence in the Global Trade & Logistics (GTL) organization. This role requires the rare ability to implement and ‘glocalise' logistics best practices in over 30 Tiffany countries so as to meet the wider Tiffany business goal of becoming the next generation luxury jeweler. As part of the Global Logistics COE, the Senior Analyst will support technical processes, large projects and support the GTL Business Partners with data insights. He/She will develop the global control tower view on key logistics metrics such as cost, speed and continuity.

The Senior Analyst, Global Logistics COE is supported by its Global Customs COE counterpart, as well as solid and dotted line peers in the Business Partnering team.
Key Accountabilities:
Thought Leadership & Project Support (50%) - Provide thought leadership on technical logistics topics to the regional GTL Business Partners. Current highlights of this accountability include:
  • Supporting the Manager in being the GTL Logistics spokesperson at a Corporate level - initiating and supporting new supply chains and products with strong logistics cost/efficiency benefits
  • Escalating technical issues that may expose the company to material risks or lead to cost savings opportunities
  • Developing a strategic plan for who and how we utilize carriers and other service providers
  • Partner with freight forwarders and other business partners/carriers on new programs and make recommendations to management
  • Research carriers and develop recommendations to management for current and new service lanes
  • Cross-training the Customs COE and Business Partnering teams on logistics topics in a practical and digestible manner
  • Creatively raising awareness of logistics pitfalls of Tiffany operations teams in 30+ countries through webinars, "Did you know?" campaigns, SharePoint sites and other channels
  • Providing technical but practical inputs to enable global Corporate initiatives to be successful

Data, Dashboard & Process Maintenance (30%) - Work with the Business Partnering team to maintain globally consistent methods of assigning, capturing and analyzing data for logistics areas. Current highlights of this accountability include:
  • Responsible for full cycle (integration, administration and optimization) of key management information systems and applications
  • Regularly reviewing shipment and store addresses stored in various Tiffany systems to reflect new, closed and relocated stores. This involves understanding the nuances of consolidation addresses and providing correct shipment addresses for different situations
  • Regularly reviewing each country's universe of account numbers for key carriers, reducing the number of account numbers as much as possible to reduce invoicing complexities
  • Designing "one-click" reporting metrics that enables the compliance, speed and cost of carriers across multiple countries to be compared on an apples-to-apples basis
  • Partnering Finance to maintain freight GL account and Veraction vendor setup so that the GL and Veraction data is a single source of truth for freight spend
  • Partnering Finance to develop an efficient invoice review workflow to identify wrongly billed shipments, persistent shipment creation errors, expensive/problematic lanes etc
  • Provide detailed analysis of freight costs with recommendations to assist management in determining strategic business opportunities.
  • Relentlessly driving automation opportunities for labor-intensive aspects of Logistics compliance activities around the world
  • Implement on-going key performance metrics for carriers. Conduct analysis of carrier performance to develop monthly and ad hoc reporting
  • Support the design, implementation and continuous improvement of critical processes and initiatives
  • Perform periodic assessment of international transportation providers, including management of rate/service agreements and contracts, as well as price and service.

Enterprise Logistics Capabilities (20%) - Working with the Business Partnering and wider Distribution teams to map a suite of glocalised logistics options that drives sales and is value for money. Current highlights of this accountability include:
  • Actively dissecting shipment data to develop recommendations for strategic business opportunities.
  • Developing forecast capabilities (both volume and cost) for significant business segments
  • Supporting tenders / RFQs for carriers to meet strategic and cost control objectives
Qualifications:
Required
  • Bachelor's degree and above, preferably with a numerical emphasis
  • 5+ years' experience in a multi-jurisdictional logistics role
  • Demonstrates proficiency in a wide range of moderate to complex activities, processes and procedures requiring in-depth knowledge and experience. Applies a broader perspective on the function and business to identify process improvements, developing new or less obvious solutions. Completes a variety of atypical assignments.
  • Excellent IT skills, demonstrating a strong desire to "self-service" and learn new systems, rather than relying on others to extract data
  • Able to deal with uncertainty and make decisions based on best available info
  • Maintain strong project focus by managing own work effort with careful attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Works independently; receives minimal guidance. Likely to act as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a genuine interest in working across cultures and pre-empting "lost-in-translation" situations
  • Able to find ways to effectively work with a global / virtual team

Preferred
  • Experience with high-value retail merchandise, armored carriers or specialized supply chains
  • Experience with implementing logistics IT tools (e.g. freight audit vendor software and carrier selection software) in an E-Commerce-centric environment
  • Experience with huge datasets and analytics tools like Business Objects and Tableau
