The Role

You will be responsible for delivering the Studio Nicholson collections via the Product Developers and Pattern Cutters in line with the design brief whilst managing the budget and critical path.

 

This will include:

  • Building and managing the critical path from concept to pre-production with design and manufacturers. Ensuring deadlines are adhered to and follow up on all prototype/sample issues to resolve and drive to completion. Identifying, calling out and making recommendations to mitigate any risks/challenges identified at all stages Working closely with Design to develop the collection from initial concept through to finished product
  • Working in partnership with Creative Director and team, understanding and interpreting their creative aesthetic and design vision and translating this to colleagues. Act as the technical partner for design, attending fittings, providing feedback on technical feasibility, brainstorming ideas and solutions to ensure the design vision is translated into product In conjunction with product development, manage factory allocations to ensure they consider the needs of the business Collaborate with Production Manager to allocate product by factory Lead handover from product development to ensure production can begin on time and all information is shared, clear and accurate Manage all vendor relationships for the collection, working with manufacturers to negotiate and calculate costs for prototypes & samples. Working closely with the Production Manager to find solutions for both Development and production. Prior to fabric allocation, provide initial calculations to monitor cost and margin and organise regular reviews through the development process Monitor price point and margin to fall in line with market requirements Negotiate with vendors on target costing to ensure profitability/ margin alignment across all product categories Communicate weekly with accounts ensuring they are aware of confirmed payments due in comings weeks to add to cash flow
  • Manage the budget for the collection, ensuring product costs meet margin requirements and the overall collection is delivered within budget. Source new manufacturers as and when necessary, that offer competitive pricing, good quality product in line with margin requirements, order volumes and creative vision Elevating issues when needed to other team leaders to solve issues in regard to critical path Managing Product Developers and Pattern team helping them prioritise workload in line with critical path and deadlines 
  • Ensure that all Zedonk is accurate and updated on time for Sales and pricing meetings

 

Ideal Candidate

  • 5+ years’ experience in Product Development
  • Several years’ experience managing and developing a team of Product Developers
  • Technical capability and product knowledge with ability to confidently influence the Design team and provide on the spot solutions in
  • Demonstrated experience working on site with vendors and operational knowledge of factories, delivering clear briefs and leveraging relationships and availability to meet demands
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to negotiate with credibility, share information effectively, and work confidently at all levels and with cross functional teams
  • In depth knowledge of fashion and products in relevant category -'fashion sensibility' - knowledge of trends, the market, the luxury consumer and peer awareness
