JOB PURPOSE

A key role within the EMEIA Visual Merchandising team, the VM Production Manager is responsible for delivering world-class, brand-enhancing windows, instore touchpoints and other creative brand moments in the EMEIA region. The candidate is required to possess strong interpersonal skills and bring creativity, organization as well as a solution orientated approach to the department. They must be able to work independently (supported by a VM Project Coordinator and reporting to a Senior VM Operations manager) while understanding the full strategic vision of the brand, displaying agility and flexibility to achieve results, and can think creatively and innovatively in a fast-paced environment. Partnering with Procurement and Central to ensure that comprehensive information is issued globally.

A crucial role in the effective developmentand production of windows. Working alongside' and partnering with both procurement and creative teams to help develop design solutions with the teams, which both support global production and reflect the creative vision of the window team. Bringing an open mind and initiative to elevate the current working process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner closely with Head Office in London to coordinate, produce and install all visual creative projects (windows, touchpoints, pop ups etc) in retail locations across Europe, Middle East, India & Africa
  • Create window layouts based on creative guidelines from Central HO to produce high quality window schemes in the most cost-efficient manner.
  • Manage and track the EMEIA windows and creative budget: Maintain timely submission of PO requests, negotiate with suppliers.
  • Liaise with multiple external vendors: Identifying and sourcing props, materials, hardware etc, and build a database of quality suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Coordinate creative calendar for installations within the region, including shipping and production of window displays, pop ups and other ad hoc moments.
  • Support and develop the field VM team by providing regular feedback and hands-on assistance with window installations to help refine the processes and upskill the teams.
  • Facilitate post project reviews to identify improvements in procedure, successes and failures and potential cost savings.
  • Manage one direct report (VM Project Coordinator) through regular coaching and development. Manage freelance support when appropriate.
  • Manage and oversee the selection, production, and installation of other creative projects e.g.: graphics, vinyl's, props etc.
  • Liaise closely with various cross functional partners (Architecture, Facilities, Events, etc) to deliver Pop Ups, Pop Ins and events
  • Partner with H&S Global department to ensure installation process of window/pop up/event manufacturing adheres to Burberry H&S high standards and policies.
  • Partner with Procurement on feasibility of global roll outs for windows, pop ins and ad hoc projects.
  • Work with Procurement on identifying new vendors specialising in different specialities and innovative production techniques, for validation by Procurement.
  • Partner with procurement to advise the creative team on the development of prototypes utilising correct materials and vendors to ensure that proposals for approval are feasible for global rollout.
  • Support procurement to ensure that vendors are validated and can provide reasonable cost structures for work undertaken.
  • Partner with both procurement & Creative to deliver more cost-effective solutions for window displays & Pop Ins.
  • Assist Creative with ideas for production methods and using production knowledge to identify the right contractor enabling Procurement to tender like for like.
  • Partner with Creative to ensure that the new guidelines follow the Guideline standards document developed with Procurement. Ensure that comprehensive information is issued globally ahead of the Central PM issuing these to the regions.
  • Partner with Central to support on specification, collation of store quantities, to support the Procurement tender process
  • Work with Creative to ensure that details and specifications are supplied as specified in the Guidelines standards document. Allowing the commercial Procurement team to get competitive costs or validate costs when timings are short. Escalate when this information is not becoming available and putting commercials/programme at risk.


PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Strong design background demonstrating detailed knowledge of display processes and technical disciplines.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with a passion for innovation, creativity, and perfection.
  • Ability to manage and deliver large scale projects installing over many locations at the same time.
  • Immaculate attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer skills including Adobe CS, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Illustrator InDesign, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Experience of working in fashion, retail, internal production teams and external display production teams
  • Proven experience of working in different retail environments such as retail, wholesale, franchise partners and joint venture partners.
  • 5+ years' experience in display production for luxury brands is a must. Experience in other fast fashion retail environments also desirable.
  • Experience in logistics related to shipping goods/international deliveries
  • Expert understanding of production techniques both 2D and 3D.
  • Ability to travel internationally and proven experience in working in different environments overseas (e.g., department stores, shopping malls, retail stores, wholesale stores, franchise stores)
