The Senior Accountant - Global Lease Accounting is responsible for complete and accurate accounting for all leases globally. The individual must build relationships with finance partners around the globe to ensure information is properly identified and assessed for accounting impacts. This position also supports the Company's annual financial statement audit requirements along with internal audit requirements. The individual must ensure that the Company's accounting policies are accurately and consistently applied and are in accordance with IFRS Accounting standards. This position is in-person with an option hybrid schedule of 3-days in the office and 2-days working from home.

Key Accountabilities
  • Manage the day to day lease accounting process globally
  • Partner with Lease Administration, Legal and International Finance partners to obtain all lease information timely to evaluate accounting impacts.
  • Review account reconciliations and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Ensure internal controls are implemented and operating effectively in accordance with the Company's internal and external controls framework
  • Drive efficient and effective financial close processes in assigned areas through performance of journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis of financial results, partnering with North America business and the international in-market accounting teams as necessary.
  • Drive continuous improvement of efficiency and effectiveness by identifying, developing and implementing enhancements to processes and systems improvement opportunities, solutions, monitoring accounting procedures and proposing automation opportunities.
  • Assist management with special assignments, as requested, including research and analysis related to the accounting treatment of proposed transactions.
  • Provide oversight and direction to staff accountants, including review of staff work product. Support team member development by providing coaching, communicating feedback sharing knowledge, and providing recommendations on best practices to support the achievement of business objectives.
  • Support internal and external audit requests and inquiries by coordinating the completion and/or review of assigned audit support and identifying regulatory and operational changes to accounting policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications
  • Lease accounting standard (ASC 842 and/or IFRS) experience for a public multinational corporation
  • Excellent time management, analytical and organizational skills
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 4-6 years of relevant work experience
  • Must be fluent in Excel and should have strong PC skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours during monthly and year-end closings, as well as for special assignments when requested

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Big 4 experience
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of Lucernex, Leasa
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards and Hyperion financial systems
  • Knowledge of Business Objects
  • Current CPA candidate or hold CPA
