As a Head of Business Development for Sustainable Choices in our Sustainability digital experience team, you will be joining a greenfield mission responsible for Zalando's developing competence in sustainable fashion. You will be at the forefront of how we define and build the digital experience that fulfils Zalando’s customer promise on Sustainability and ensure that sustainability content expertise and external stakeholder perspectives are successfully integrated. Ultimately, you will drive the adoption of more sustainable choices and activate long-term behaviour change by enabling our customers to live their social and environmental values - in turn, positioning the Zalando platform as their first destination for sustainable fashion.

  • Act as a source of sustainability expertise in the day-to-day work of the digital experience team for sustainability to ensure strategic oversight across Zalando’s do.MORE sustainability strategy goals.
  • Strengthen and protect Zalando’s reputation with customers, brand partners and regulatory bodies by building scalable approaches to manage reputational risk in the digital experience and engage key internal and external stakeholders in the development of the future digital experience.
  • Translate future sustainability regulations into a strategy for Zalando sustainability customer experience.
  • Identify and explore long-term strategic opportunities to drive sustainable behaviour change through experimentation and pragmatic testing.
  • Increase customer awareness and associated importance of sustainability on the platform by working with internal teams to identify the most impactful levers.
  • Improve the sustainability content present on the platform by taking ownership of specific digital premises and the quality of content on them.
  • Strong technical sustainability expertise in all stages of the product life cycle and the current European legislative landscape regarding sustainability claims, ideally within fashion.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex topics into clear messages in spoken and written form.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills up to SVP Level with the ability to balance multiple perspectives in order to create best-in-class solutions within larger organisations.
  • Experience collaborating with digital experience teams, strong business sense and a passion for solving problems that increase customer satisfaction and drive innovation.
  • Leading and guiding a team of two Business Developers and being comfortable to be hands on in the initial phase of the team.
  • Ability to act quickly, be flexible, and balance multiple tasks at once; calm under pressure.
