The Team
This position is part of the Global Creative Services team. The Global Creative Services Team is responsible for setting and executing creative brand direction when it comes to physical consumer touchpoints. Included in this are Global Retail, Wholesale, Pop-ups, Windows, and In-Store experiences

The Position

The Senior Retail Concept Designer reports into the Director for Retail Concept Design and will lead multiple projects and new concept developments, working together with other team members. You will also lead projects like a Flagship store supported by other designers. You will be an integral part of the team to develop and execute the best possible design solutions to the highest standards.  The position requires a balance between creative, technical and analytical thinking. As a senior designer you work very closely with internal stakeholders like Visual Merchandising teams, Marketing, Windows and local teams in the countries, as well as external partners like suppliers, local architects and general contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work proactively and collaboratively within the Tommy Hilfiger retail Concept Design team to lead the development of new store concepts and create all required information so these concepts can be executed globally by guiding an creating the development of guidelines and standards for full-price, shop-in-shop and outlet stores

  • Lead the development of specific store projects supporting the Director Store concept and Design

  • Support local teams in store development on execution of projects

  • Lead the development and approval of scalable, technical details/solutions for new developments and fixture/furniture that meets aesthetic, technical and budget requirements

  • Bet he go-to-person for your team members and junior designers, supporting them in their development

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum 5 years’ design experience working at a design agency or in a brand environment

  • Degree in Interior Design or Architecture or related qualification

  • A good balance between creative, technical and analytical thinking.  The ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve and prioritize tasks

  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English are crucial

  • Good knowledge of retail design, experience design and the retail environment

  • Results oriented person with a strong focus on high quality delivery

  • Good understanding of detailing, value engineering and knowledge in use of material for interior design and furniture construction 

  • Understanding of commercial requirements and brand equity requirements

  • Understanding of the relation between material and design choices versus the cost level, sustainability and sourcing/production of the designed element 

  • Ability lead a project, efficient communication, organization, time management, negotiation and problem-solving skills

  • Rendering skills, Revit knowledge are a plus 

  • Work collaboratively with multi-national teams

  • Positive, enthusiastic and proactive personality

  • Good SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Indesign, Adobe Photoshop and related software skills

  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
