VP Product Development BOSS Menswear (m/f/d)

The VP Product Development is a dynamic leader responsible for driving the product development process from initial design concept through pre-production release. Responsible for the accurate and timely production of samples that support the technical, aesthetic and customer execution requirements. PD team will leverage specialized product expertise to create styles supporting the design vision and business KPIs (including garment and development costs). In Charge of Vendor Allocation and development of vendor portfolio in order to meet the rising requirements. Critical cross functional partner to the Design, S&P, Merchandising, Fabric and Technical teams.

What you can expect:
  • Partner with Design, Production Operations, Raw Materials to align on business priorities and assortment architecture to build resources (internal & external) needed to deliver on assortment needs
  • Drive financial results by providing product solutions for business opportunities that are differentiated from the market and unique to the brand
  • Proactive approach to direct interface with factories and vendors and team(s) from inception to pre-production engineering to ensure that the product being developed meets technical and aesthetic requirements within the targeted cost parameters
  • Continuous knowledge and evaluation of factory base capabilities and best execution location opportunities per factory. Ability to communicate and problem solve product challenges with vendors understanding their specialties
  • Collaborate with S&P to strategically analyse seasonal vendor allocation including cost negotiations based on bottom-up breakdown of Bill of Materials (BOM) at division and dept level
  • Perform competitive research; continually evaluate marketplace to identify and review applicability of key trends in manufacturing, fabrications and construction; identify significant innovations and share with partners in Merchandising and Design on regular basis
  • Lead, develop and manage team members. Set clear objectives, provide coaching and ongoing performance feedback, evaluate potential and empower direct reports
  • Accountable for managing team to deliver on-time and in full arrival of proto samples
  • Own product development for initiatives outside the core seasonal calendar


Your profile:
  • An exceptional academic record with a degree in Engineering, Business, Analytics or a related field
  • At least min. 10 years of experience in product development/pre-production, Product Lifecycle Management and Product Creation in an environment with very fast paced innovation cycles
  • Proven experience in and in-depth knowledge of the fashion and lifestyle industry - wholesale and vertical retail product development experience preferred
  • Strong technical product construction knowledge
  • Multiple years of experience in effectively motivate, develop and manage high performing teams
  • Extremely strong analytical skills to plan strategically to the needs of the business
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, high attention to detail, outstanding goal orientation and implementation strength
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of ambiguity and change and a lot of room for big impact
  • Proven ability to thrive in a complex and matrix organization and seamlessly handle multiple tasks and priorities
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel worldwide
