Summary Statement: The Retail Analyst has the primary responsibility of analysis focused on store labor, expense, and operations. This role provides support to the Retail Performance & Operations Team and focuses on analysis that supports operations optimization and improved company profitability. This role is also responsible for identifying and recommending appropriate improvements, efficiencies and follow-up actions that become evident based on the analytical work performed. This role reports to the Expense Manager and works closely with the Retail Operations Team.

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Monthly review of stores expense performance; analyzing performance, identification of performances outside of norm, review for trends, recommend strategies to improve expense outcomes
  • Provides executive summaries and improvement recommendations based on data analysis
  • Seeks understanding of analysis objective for purpose of compiling and delivering analysis information that is relevant for decision making and/or actionable
  • Key contributor in the development and refinement of store financial plans, including forecasting, planning and budgeting store operating and capital expense plans
  • Proactive review and analysis of financial budgets to ensure alignment with company initiatives and profitability growth
  • Closely collaborates with Retail Operations Team to support reporting and analysis needed to drive operations optimization
  • Collaborates with cross functional departments to review profitability improvement opportunities through labor optimization, operational efficiency, expense reduction, etc.
  • Provides on demand data capture and analysis as needed
  • Partner closely with finance, spend management, LP, facilities, supply chain, credit services, store ops
  • Assists with store performance reporting, as needed
  • Builds and maintains personal credibility by ensuring work product is accurate and aligns with company standards

  • 4-year degree preferred
  • Experience in Essbase/Oracle preferred
  • Minimum of 2+ years' Accounting & Finance experience.
  • Proficient in a fast paced, lean, global corporate environment
  • Must possess excellent corporate accounting, research, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, PowerPoint and Word are required.
  • Ability to work independently to complete time sensitive projects by deadline
  • Experience in and commitment to protecting sensitive and confidential information
