Position Overview
The Lead, Specialty Business Handbags is accountable for driving incremental sales by training and coaching Sales Professionals and Store Leadership across all Ralph Lauren Stores. The role will create a robust strategy to drive sales growth in the category categories. The strategy will be developed in partnership with Field Leadership, General Managers, and Sales Professionals while working with Business Planning on product and allocations needs and will require the involvement and management on relevant work streams. The development and execution of the aforementioned strategy is a critical component to the success of this role. The Lead, Specialty Business- Handbags will ensure the highest level of client experience, brand image, and associate engagement by acting as an "owner" to drive the business through the following: o Specialized Product Training and Department-Specific Talent Development o RLS Specialty Business Strategy Support, Analysis and Growth o Specialized Product Process Management & Improvement o Cross-Functional Team Partnership Development & Support

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Partnership with store and corporate management to provide expertise, and support structure for programs and strategy to drive business results. General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Develop and execute a well-rounded strategy to grow the business
• Positive influence, focused on motivating the team for business success
• Training and product knowledge with store teams for new product arrivals and new associate on boarding
• Identify Leaders and Sales Professionals in each location to drive incremental sales
• Developing short-term and long-term objectives to meet overarching Retail business strategy
• Direct support with clients and VIPs during the selling experience, including introduction to the categories
• New client acquisition for Handbags across all Stores
• Encourages team to get the best results from others, emphasizes cooperation and measures own success by the success of the team
• Partnership with corporate teams to provide feedback on the product assortment
• Problem Solver- Understands the customer, teams and business needs and recommends solutions
• Proactively analyze business to identify opportunities for RLS sales generation as well as global brand and customer experience elevation opportunities.

* Partner with merchandising teams, Store Operations, and Asset Protection to align individual RLS store operational activity with regard to company policy compliance and new process development.
* Serve as key partner for DTC Merchandisers for Specialty Division when making relevant investment decisions.
* Liaise between Retail Leadership, DTC Merchandising and Planning & Allocations on in-season opportunities for Specialty Business store penetration, assortments, allocations to enhance top-line sales performance.
* Partner with Product Presentation & Creative, Marketing and Store Leaders to position specialty businesses effectively for the local market and clientele, in support of overall RLS and global brand objectives.
• Design and implement the selling ceremony, the process and interaction between Sales Professional and customer:
• Drive a consistent and high-quality experience, building long term relationships
• Drives initiatives that strengthen our position in the market and drives future sales through unique, exceptional customer experiences
• Provide a robust, ongoing training program for new and existing Sales Professionals
• Partner with Learning & Development and RLS Leadership on the development and execution of Specialized training programs, including specialty product technical training, client engagement best practices, in-store service and fittings, after-sale client experience and taking a business from good to great.
• Own and communicate valuable, specialized resources, assets, and tools for field teams to execute seamless luxury client experiences and drive division sales growth.
• Partner with management and sales professionals to work directly with high profile customers and for special events
• Act as a leader in the field with regard to the luxury VIC client experience through the management and execution of selling and service standards, including facilitating VIC in-store appointments, curated assortments/offerings, special event opportunities, and other specialized requests
• Leverage relationships to support true end-to-end VIC client experiences, from initial in-store appointments, through to after-sale service and product delivery
• Partner closely with global supply chain, design and production teams to address the unique nature of client requests and customization and special-order inquiries
• Establish and develop strategic partnerships with key cross-functional partners to increase Handbag Category performance within RLS such as DTC Merchandising, Product Presentation & Creative, Learning & Development, Business Planning & Allocations, Marketing, Store Operations, and Global Merchandising, Production & Design.
• Act as a conduit for facilitating market and customer feedback and opportunities to global brand and merchandising teams, supporting product development and production efforts with valuable store, customer, and marketplace information. Support the development of future product opportunities for the company by increasing transparency to the store and customer level with regard to the specialty business.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

* Significant experience and knowledge in Luxury Handbags and Leather Goods
* Proven ability to train, mentor and develop others
* Experience in managing a client book and acquiring new clients
* Experience in creating and driving a business strategy across multiple stores
* Proven ability to drive results and exceed financial targets
* Knowledge of jewelry and watch design and production
* Demonstrated interpersonal leadership skills, including peer leadership and upward management, preferably within a fast-paced, cross-functional collaborative environment
* Detail oriented and precise
* Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships and environment
* Think strategically, conceptually, and creatively - have a vision while maintaining flexibility and agility to evolving market climates and business objectives
* Motivated self-starter, with a professional attitude
* Excellent interpersonal skills supporting a team environment
