Personalisation Technician

JOB PURPOSE

Working as part of a dedicated team you will assist with developing & industrialising Embroidery and Personalisation Developments, supporting cross functional business projects. You will work existing Personalisation /Embroidery team to create high quality embroidery designs and personalisation developments, whilst also providing clear Approved standards and Operating Procedures for Internal Manufacturing and External Vendors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with design , PE and PD department to develop new embroidery designs in line with requirements
• Use specialist Embroidery Software to create embroidery designs in line with Burberry standards / requirements
• Research, Develop and Industrialise embroidery and embossing methods and specifications for internal and external manufacture
• Perform thorough sewing / machine tests on all new fabric bases and establish best practices for machine settings etc. to ensure the highest quality standards are achieved
• Communicate effectively and clearly to Cross Functional Burberry teams on progress / delivery of samples and any technical difficulties
• Provide Standards / Technical Specifications for approved embroidery with External vendors to ensure consistency across vendor base for IP branding embroidery
• Work with Cross Functional teams on Personalisation Developments in line with the company strategy
• Perform machine testing on New Leather Goods based on seasonal proposals and provide information to Cross Functional teams to prepare for the launch of items on time
• Thread matching, ordering and keeping record for all approvals for bulk and sampling
• Compile detailed Specifications / SOP's for new styles to Retail & Hub teams in line with key launch dates
• Work with Global Retail teams / Hub teams and provide Technical support where required, to ensure embroidery and embossing personalisation is aligned across the business
• Provide embroidery training / technical support for internal embroidery operators as and when required

PERSONAL PROFILE

• Good knowledge / experience of digital machine embroidery
• Embroidery digitising experience, using specialised Software to create designs / embroidery files
• Knowledge / Experience of hot foil embossing, monogramming, other printing techniques
• General Garment Technician experience
• Previous experience in manufacturing environment
• Passionate about textiles and product personalisation.
• Proficient in MS Office applications - Excel/Word/ PowerPoint
• Good knowledge of creative drawing software - Adobe Illustrator / In-design / Photoshop
