This candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing assortment strategies to drive growth across apparel and accessories divisions.  This role will liaise with design and sales to ensure business targets are achieved with a keen eye on competitive market opportunities through the Alexander Wang brand lens.  Applicants must be organized, detail oriented and enthusiastic.

Prior merchandising experience is required***


  • Build seasonal line plans that support category growth, establish target pricing, and maintain target IMUs
  • Pull selling reports to analyze weekly, monthly and EOS data with an ability to synthesize and present
  • Analyze bookings and sales trends to create planning efficiencies
  • Conduct market research to provide competitive analysis on trends, price points, silhouettes, and key market opportunities to instruct design process and supplement line plan requests
  • Monitor seasonal development counts to ensure assortment is in line with seasonal SKU plan Initiate and ensure timely and accurate style setup, set wholesale/retails in system; communicate and manage all style changes cross-functionally
  • Partner with EVP to ensure development is aligned with global business directives and brand aesthetics
  • Build, manage and maintain seasonal merchandising line sheets and masters across categories
  • Attend market shoots and function as a product resource to teams on set
  • Work cross-functionally with IT department on the launch of the virtual market platform and manage integration of style data for market collateral
  • Partner with VM to align setup with merchandising strategies
  • Support successful seasonal markets with training collateral and ad hoc sales support
  • Launch cut authorizations with production
  • Function as a go-to product resource for cross functional teams
  • Manage post-market updates and communication to the organization
  • Spearhead creation and distribution of market hindsight and product knowledge materials cross-functionally
  • Establish a strong cross-functional voice


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Merchandising, Business, or any related fields
  • 3-5 years of merchandising experience
  • Highly organized with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships
  • Strong analytical and retail math skills with a strength in identifying qualitative product attributes
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with RLM/Joor is a plus
  • Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently as well as collaboratively
