Finance Manager, FP&A - 12 month FTC

JOB PURPOSE

The FP&A Manager will be responsible for all financial information relating to gross margin, including the annual budget, quarterly forecasting and actuals reporting. The FP&A Manager will work closely with planning and the gross margin project teams to provide cross-functional, in-depth analysis on gross margin for monthly Board reporting, as well as on an ad hoc basis as required.

The FP&A Manager will also manage the capital appraisal approval process, working closely with regional finance teams to provide accurate and concise project overviews to SVP, Commercial Finance and Chief Commercial Officer.

The FP&A Manager will be comfortable with data analysis, including working with large data sets, and working across functions. Experience in a gross margin or supply chain role in a large, multi-national retailer is an asset.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Gross Margin:

Take ownership of all aspects of gross margin reporting, including:
Budgets and Forecasts
• Partner with Planning, Pricing and Supply Chain teams to understand the key drivers in the latest view of Gross Margin
• Update and communicate margin guidance to regions to help them complete their Budget and Forecast submission
• Lead regional calls to discuss and agree gross margin assumptions ahead of their Budget and Forecast submission
• Review intercompany Supply Chain margins, and procurement inputs for Group constant currency model
• Analyse key movements and drivers within gross margin, comparing to prior year and previous Budgets & Forecasts

• Complete the gross profit reconciliation and analyse and explain key movements vs PY, FC, Budget
• Prepare gross margin bridge for input into monthly Board Book

Capex:

• Manage and review forecast capex submissions
• Review monthly actuals capex submissions
• Manage the end-to-end capital appraisal process including:
• Review and summarise regional appraisal submissions, providing questions or comments to the regions
• Draft overview of communication to be sent to CEO and CFO for project approval
• Attend monthly meeting with SVP, Commercial Finance and CCO to provide overview of submissions
• Assist SVP of Commercial Finance with any Capital appraisal information required for the Board

• Ad hoc queries and analysis as required

PERSONAL PROFILE

• Professional finance qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
• Experience of managing and influencing senior stakeholders in both finance and the business
• Excellent global communication skills with experience of leading, influencing and challenging working groups
• Highly analytical and logical mindset with great attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot issues and deliver solutions
• Advanced finance system skills with good knowledge of SAP and BPC
• Ideally worked within an FP&A team for global organisation
• Experience in gross margin an asset
• Experience working with large data sets
• Experience managing multiple priorities and delivering high quality results under time pressure
