Position Overview
Experienced First through Production Patternmaker with a primarily focuson tailored garments across multiple women's brands (Collection, Polo, Lauren). This position will interact with Design, Technical Design, Sample Room, Production, Vendors.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Collaborate with Design to develop clear understanding of design concept and fit intent, and execute drapings, muslins, and garment patterns accordingly. · Determine appropriate garment construction methods according to fabrics and styles. · Lead fit sessions and utilize technical expertise by offering suggestions to improve fit, resolve technical issues, and execute design intent of garments. · Effectively communicate fit intent, balance and construction to factories and technical designers via complete electronic patterns along with Cutter's Musts. · Proactively troubleshoot technical issues relating to pattern files with factories, technical designers, and management team. Provide viable recommendations and alternatives as needed to ensure Brand integrity. · Collaborate with management team on timing, workflow, and potential solutions to technical and pattern issues. · Track and manage individual workflow and workload for own product and work closely with team to ensure clarity on deliverables · Maintain size and fit consistency within the Brand and across product categories · Provide mentoring, consultation, and skill training for sample room associates. · Develop VIP projects as needed and provide strong partnership to Design & leadership team to execute high end couture quality within timing requirements and challenges. · Conduct self and others within established guidelines of the Corporate Fit Protocol, Ralph Lauren Corporation Code of Conduct. · Hold self accountable for work commitments and outcomes, and adhere to deadlines as directed by management. · Take on new work assignments with enthusiasm and optimism, and partner with team to unlock solutions and eliminate roadblocks.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1) Knowledge, skills & abilities: · Ability to interpret Design concepts into luxury world-class garments through applying creativity and technical expertise in draping or flat patternmaking, determining appropriate garment construction method according to fabric and styling · Demonstrated skills in first and production patternmaking · Expertise in patternmaking, grading, construction and fit for multiple or complex product · Knowledge of couture construction standards and manufacturing methods · Communicate clearly, effectively, and transparently with all cross-functional partners and leadership. · Ability to communicate and give technical direction to non English speaking business partners (samplehands/ cutter/ factory technicians) · Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently, multi task and be flexible · Ability to proactively troubleshoot and problem solve · Be dependable and reliable. Possess ability to work flexible and extended hours as needed. · Strong computer skills: - computer patternmaking programs: ADS, Gerber, Lectra, Tukatech - computer spec writing programs: PLM, PDM, Karat - email systems: MS Outlook and Microsoft Suite: MS Excel, MS Word - 3D Software: CLo, Optitex, Browzwear, Tukatech 2) Minimum educational level: · AA or Certification in Patternmaking and Apparel Construction preferred 3) Minimum experience: · Full time experience working as a patternmaker with full knowledge of grading, marking and garment construction · Experience working with a sample room
