JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Prototyping and Modelling Senior Manager, the Prototyping coordinator will primarily coordinate the prototyping and colouring teams in order to achieve company goals and requests in terms of collection and samples deliveries.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Reading a pattern and identifying the different parts that make it up
• Assembling bag parts
• Mounting accessories on the luxury bags
• Suggest possible technical and quality improvements
• Constant alignment with other technical figures (pattern makers, product engineering and development teams, etc.)
• Overseeing the quality of the leather
• Using specific instruments to do the job (like tweezers, clobber's knife, etc.)
• Identify technical problems during the assembling phase.
• Participate in briefing and review meetings, recommending suitable technical solutions for each product.
• Collaborate with CAD and Industrialization teams using a continuous improvement approach.
• Follow technical pattern development to ensure design requirements and meet deadlines from Product Development.
• Consistently align with the cutting, preparation, and CAD departments to achieve the best luxury products.
• Build and lead the prototyping and colouring team in order to improve technical skills, enable product consistency, increase the overall quality of the products
• Meet the delivery dates as per business schedule.
PERSONAL PROFILE
• Proven experience in prototyping.
• Previous people management experience
• Ability to take decision based on Technical facts, experience and knowledge.
• Excellent knowledge of manufacturing techniques and process (leather goods)
• Good knowledge of raw materials - leather, fabrics, textile fibres (canvas/nylon etc...)
• Knowledge of metal hardware functionality.
• Problem-solving and team work qualities.
• Problem solving capability.
• Attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills and is a team player.
