Job Details

A Brooklyn-based fashion studio with a loyal customer and fan following, Orseund Iris is now hiring a Production Manager! Working with our Creative Director/Designer and Production Associate, this role is imperative to take our production and development process to the next level so we are able to design and drop multiple styles monthly. Ideally, you have 5-7 years of experience in fashion production, a Bachelor’s or Masters in Fashion Design & Production, and are based in NYC. 

LEAD +  MANAGE_________________________________________________

In this role, you will lead and manage Production with the assistance of a Production Associate and Assistant, along with a budget to hire 3D tech pack professionals on a freelance basis. You will: 

  • Oversee the sampling and production process 
  • Ensure production is cost effective and of the highest quality 
  • Partner with all departments to organize and plan a weekly production schedule 
  • Improve our sustainability and inclusivity efforts 
  • Work with our amazing team to launch new styles in a fast-paced environment 
  • Monitor the production process and adjust schedules as needed 
  • Communicate with our content, social and e-commerce team to prepare for launches 
  • Work with factories, and if necessary, pattern makers to resolve any any and all production issues 

RESPONSIBILITES_________________________________________________

  • Planning and organizing our sampling and production schedules 
  • Estimating, negotiating and agreeing budgets and timescales 
  • Ensuring that sustainability goals are met for all new styles 
  • Determining and enforcing quality control standards 
  • Ensuring that the designer’s styles are taken from sketch to sample to launch in the most efficient way possible
  • Reviewing and monitoring fabric and trim testing pre- and post- production while ensuring that we are working with the highest quality fabrics and trim from the ground up 
  • Establishing and nurturing amazing partnerships and relationships with fabric vendors and factories in the USA and Oversees
  • Creating new relationships to ensure high quality per garment category (ex: leather goods, or bridal etc) - this could be written better 
  • Leading the team while producing samples and bulk production for ongoing monthly launches of new styles
  • Managing a detailed WIP (Work in Progress plan and calendar) which you will create, to follow each style at every stage of production and trouble-shoot any issues throughout the entire process 
  • Communicating daily with vendors and factories to ensure on-time and on-price delivery of styles, while adhering to super strict quality standards and budgets 
  • Receiving and logging all pre production and TOP samples, prioritizing as needed and following up with design for comments and addressing any delays to the team 
  • Researching and building new relationships with sustainable fabric suppliers, helping us achieve our sustainability goals.
  • Purchase Order management 
  • Create and allocate purchase orders for new and restock/replenishment orders while working with our Finance Manager to keep the company on budget 
  • Work closely with the finance manager to help plan fabric and factory payouts quarterly and semi-annually
  • Closely track and update unit costs, negotiating as necessary and calculating final landed costs before products are sold to accurately track margins 
  • Become the liaison between our overseas suppliers, freight forwarder and our Brooklyn studio and Manhattan partners to ensure a smooth and timely hand-off of each and every design.

  • A fast learner; understand woven and knit garment construction and love the idea of facing new challenges on a daily basis
  • A collaborator and great team member who values direct and efficient communication while also contributing to a positive work environment
  • Strong working knowledge of apparel production and the mathematics involved
  • A good understanding that analyzing customer order data from our website ensures the proper size ratio for all orders while constantly working to improve fit, sizing and quality of each garment and accessory to minimize customer returns and exchanges
  • Have exceptionally strong organizational skills and amazing written and oral communication and presentation skills along with a sense of urgency to launch styles as efficiently as possible in the shortest amount of time
  • Have the communication skills and know how to work cross-functionally with design, production, and the e-commerce sales team members to discuss all necessary style, fit, and style information on a daily basis

SKILLS_________________________________________________

Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, PowerPoint and Excel as well as Google Drive, Docs and Sheets along with Slack and Dropbox
Ideally we are looking for someone who is learning and on their way to becoming proficient in Clo3D design
