YOUR OPPORTUNITY
As a Payroll Specialist for Zegna, you will play a key role within the HR team by leading our Payroll Administration and supporting the employee lifecycle.
Reporting directly to the HRIS Analyst, you will assist in the execution of all Payroll efforts for our brands in the US. The role provides fundamental support in executing the employee new hire process.
The core responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Payroll:
  • Process Biweekly payroll for US and Canada; inclusive of monthly incentives
  • Record new hires and terminations in HrZ
  • Audit all employee changes such as tax status, address changes, benefits changes
  • Ensure accuracy of all hours submitted by managers i.e. over time and paid benefit time
  • Ensure accuracy of tax filings and year end/W-2 filings
  • Issue manual checks as required and update into UKG Pro HR system
  • Ensure deductions, special calculations (e.g. 401(k)) and all earnings/deductions coded correctly i.e. for tax exemptions in UKG Pro
  • Run monthly 401(k) reports of deferrals and employer match contributions
  • Ensure accuracy of Allowed/Taken accumulators to monitor paid time off and ensure coincides with payroll payments
  • Maintain Year End Taxable Fringe Benefits and 3PSP to be entered at Year End
  • Calculate Average Hourly Rates for draw employees bi-annually

Human Resources
  • Oversee new hire process; ensure all required documents received accurately and timely for payroll and benefits purposes
  • Support background Check process
  • Employment verifications
  • Assist with unemployment claims
  • Oversee employee clothing allowance benefits

Recruitment
  • Support recruitment efforts and processes including definition of search strategies, job postings, internal referrals, agency identification, selection and seamlessly execute retail interview process
  • Develop and update job descriptions
  • Identify and develop new and effective interviewing procedures/techniques
  • Process and track applicant submissions; Manage recruitment database
  • Conduct initial candidate screenings and interviews.
  • Refer qualified and selected applicants to specific departments for further interviews
  • Prepare offer letters
  • Set clear goals and benchmarks for recruitment
  • Prepare weekly recruitment reports (New HRIS system)
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3-4 years Payroll experience; knowledge of retail industry preferred
  • Experience working of UKG Pro, UKG Ready
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Business acumen
  • Sense of urgency and drive for results
  • Exceptional communication and relationship building skills
  • Independent self-starter and team player - strong work ethic
