CAD Manager

JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Prototyping and Modelling Senior Manager, the CAD Manager will primarily translate design concept into technical model within project deadlines. You will provide CAD patterns for prototyping, sampling and industrialization activities. You will coordinate the pattern making team, working closely with the Design department, Product Development department and other technical teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for technical execution of leather goods patterns, as well as ensuring functional and aesthetic goals are achieved.
• Ability to create complex patterns compliant to expectations of creative and merchandising teams in a timely manner and with full autonomy.
• Identify technical problems during creative briefing and sketch evaluation.
• Participate in briefings and reviews, recommending suitable technical solutions for each product.
• Collaborate with Design, Prototyping, Product Development and Industrialization teams using a continuous improvement approach.
• Follow technical pattern development to ensure design requirements and meet deadlines from Product Development.
• Consistently align with Prototyping department.
• Build and lead the CAD modelling team in compliance with company strategy in order to improve technical skills, enable product consistency across all developments and allow faster alignment for industrialization.

PERSONAL PROFILE

• Proven experience in leather goods pattern making.
• Ability to make decision based on technical facts, experience and knowledge.
• Good knowledge of manufacturing techniques and process (leather goods)
• Good knowledge of raw materials - leather, fabrics, textile fibres (canvas/nylon etc...)
• Problem-solving and team work qualities.
• Problem solving capability.
• Attention to detail.
• Good knowledge of English.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills and is a team player.
