Zalando continues to grow fast and we continually evolve our business organization. The Zalando People & Organization (P&O) team is passionate about business partnering in its truest sense. Reporting to the P&O Director Customer Fulfillment, you will play a critical role in developing and delivering the P&O plan across our Logistics organization (Germany and International) as well as leading network wide projects. As a Director of P&O, you take full ownership of the people's agenda and work with the business leaders to build and scale best in class capabilities for Zalando. The ideal candidate will be able to play both a hands-on and strategic role, providing Human Resources leadership and expertise in areas of Employee Relations, Coaching/Development, Conflict Management, Organizational Development/Design, Employee Engagement, Recruitment, culture and DEI and much more. You will work closely with the senior leadership teams and the wider P&O team, utilizing your excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills to drive employee engagement and manage change. Whatever you focus on, it will all be aimed at delivering the highest quality service to our internal and external customers.

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources leader who can diagnose problems as well as identify and drive appropriate solutions. The role will require the ability to establish P&O priorities and operating mechanisms to drive change along with the ability to interface effectively with leaders at all levels. Excellent communication skills and data driven analytical thinking are required. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast paced and innovative environment where multiple priorities compete. You will bring leadership skills and gain a deep knowledge of the business across Zalando's growing supply chain network. Strategic priorities will include scaling and developing the Logistics organization, leading and contributing to P&O expansion activities and sourcing and recruiting talent to build and scale unique capabilities that enable the company's growth ambition through powering winning customer experiences.

  • Create a unified organization that uniformly supports and develops employee engagement, leadership development and high organization development

Additional traits/experience
  • Inclusion and Diversity leadership experience in a senior management capacity with a demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective organizational strategies
  • Have led complex change management and/or led key P&O project implementations â- Known for high judgment, bias for action, and demonstrated ability to deliver results
  • Ideally 10+ years of relevant experience as an P&O leader ideally within a high volume, fast paced and customer focussed environment
  • Experience in organization design and effectiveness as well as building leadership talent and culture.
  • 7+ years experience in Logistics/Shipping distribution centers, manufacturing environments, hospitality, healthcare, retail, and customer-facing / customer-service environments with experience in building, scaling and developing businesses.
  • Track record in building up multi-disciplinary teams as well as leading teams across multiple locations.
  • Possess problem solving and analytical capability; experience of managing ambiguity and analyzing P&O metrics to identify root causes and develop short, medium and long-term plans
  • Experienced in working in high growth digital and/or technology services companies (organic and inorganic growth)
  • Navigating ambiguity: Proven track record of solving complex business problems, strong experience in organizational change, and a passion for embracing ambiguity
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into actionable insights for the people agenda
  • Experience of the German labor law and Union environment will be a plus
  • Stakeholder management: Valuable team player with strong communication skills who collaborates effectively with all levels across the organization
