Senior Manager, Architecture Technical Design & Costing

JOB PURPOSE

The role is responsible for all retail store design technical standards & guideline and for global construction cost analysis, coordination, value engineering on all Architecture Dept activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, manage and own the Global Store Design Fit-out specifications and details book, with specific management and responsibility of technology, APP, IT, MEP sections. Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, design and construction teams.
• Assemble & build prototypes to fulfil all design concepts.
• Work closely with design and construction to ensure all teams are up to date with current concept and this is consistently delivered identifying and establishing procedures/processes and technology solutions.
• Identify and implement specific solutions for complex design standards focusing on brand aesthetics, feasibility, sustainability, maintainability and cost effectiveness.
• Identify, coordinate and manage groups of design, construction and external stakeholders to achieve the vision of Burberry's stores and pop ups in the most expeditious and effective manner
• Direct concepts and provide consultations to the regional and corporate teams with regards to technical questions and comments. Including external consultants and contractors where required
• Evaluate and manage construction costs on a global overview, coordinating with regional teams on performance and value engineering opportunities and ensure corrective action is taken as necessary.
• Measure and report on project cost and resources performance identifying correct performance measures, risks and resolution on a global corporate scale.
• Create and manage a global construction resource use schedule based on yearly planning. Create a global network of construction resources coordinating with regional construction teams.
• Working with Procurement identify where cost savings can be achieved throughout the supply chain
• Analyse, evaluate and coordinate with relevant Corporate stakeholders to ensure corporate processes are adhered and managed resulting in a lean, efficient tender and approval processes
• Directly project manage projects as necessary based on global workload.

PERSONAL PROFILE

• Bachelor (or higher) degree in Architecture, Engineering, Management
• Proven problem-solving analytical skills with an ability to embrace change enthusiastically
• Thorough knowledge of high end retail store planning/ detailing/ construction costs and operations
• Able to communicate effectively with technical sketches / CAD drawings
• Experience high end retail store fit-out is a plus
