The Director of International Sales and Business Development is responsible for development and execution of all strategic initiatives to expand Carolina Herrera New York international distribution, create, maintain and grow relationships with wholesale customers and promote the Carolina Herrera New York brand internationally (i.e. outside the Americas).


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Lead the International Wholesale business and profitability develop the network in accordance with the brand strategy
  • Organize and execute 4 seasonal selling campaigns in Paris each year
  • Execute market in New York when necessary to support international clients buying in New York
  • Present a strategic plan for each of the territories to the President and execute accordingly
  • Create strong relationships with international customers and generate growing sales from current clients of Carolina Herrera
  • Identify and maximize new business opportunities and successfully develop new accounts. Define, negotiate and conclude trade parameters (contracts, conditions, offer, collection etc.)
  • Partner with company executives to develop and execute sales and promotional strategies
  • Develop strategic growth initiatives to identify and acquire new accounts in specialty department store and online channels
  • Sales planning (including short and long-term sales forecasts), setting budgets and exceeding budget expectations
  • Partner with agents, consultants, and department stores to strategically plan optimal in-store brand placement, increase OTB, develop shop in shops
  • Review and develop business plans with all key accounts
  • Supervise the impending Paris showroom setup
  • Occasionally and upon request, interact with licensed brand CH to optimize market presence of the name Carolina Herrera in select territories


  • Must have 7 years in Wholesale Sales experience in the luxury fashion industry, women’s RTW a must
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with major target markets (Europe, Middle East)
  • Highly energetic self-starter, able to think outside the box and work independently as well as in teams
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven track record of managing large department store accounts, of increased sales revenue, and developing business results
  • Must have senior management relationships with all international department stores, especially in France and the UK
  • Established relationships in Asia a plus
  • Must be flexible and have the ability to adapt to an ever-changing business
  • Possess a clear understanding of financial measurements and how to impact them
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal cross-functional teams and internal business partners. Thorough knowledge of industry and market conditions
  • Strong analytical skills and fluency in retail math and proficient in Excel
  • Decision making capability clearly driven by developing strategic product and business initiatives
  • Must be able to travel frequently. International and travel experience preferred
  • Fluent in English required
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or French is a plus
