As a Team Lead Sports Strategic Partner Manager you will advocate, develop and execute the sports strategies for the most relevant sports brands operating at Zalando (e.g. Nike, Puma and similar), defining which role they play for Zalando Sports across all sports types and categories. You are accountable for defining and executing the Sports strategy for applicable Sports brands in alignment with internal stakeholders and brands with exceptional stakeholder skills and in-depth marketplace understanding. As a Team Lead you will ensure Zalando gets perceived as Sports credible towards most relevant partners ultimately to drive Sports consumer engagement and making applicable brands long term successful at Zalando.

  • Be accountable for setting Distinct Sports strategies for most relevant Sports brands at Zalando
  • Play a role to reconcile Sports Brand strategies with Sports Strategy and align (if applicable) with cross Category Brand strategies
  • Work alongside with internal and external stakeholders for advocating and aligning Sports brand strategy and Zalando sports strategy
  • Drive internal and external alignment regarding the Zalando Sports vision
  • Be an authority towards the brands that sports is a priority for Zalando, ensuring applicable brands are long term successful at Zalando

  • Strategy: Develop, maintain, and execute strategic plans with clear roadmaps and timelines and coordinate partner focused initiatives across relevant functions within and beyond Category Management
  • Platform Management: Link the Zalando Platform vision and project landscape with the partner’s needs, and financial and strategic plans. Drive cross-department partner focused initiatives and ensure their timely implementation
  • Stakeholder Management: Ensure transparency across stakeholders to facilitate project progress. Maintain a strong network within the partners’ organisation and enable structured relationship management
  • Financial Planning: Support the Category Teams with the setting and alignment of commercial growth targets for the partnership with the selected brands. Integrate Zalando business models and services feeding into the plans and track target achievements
  • Negotiations: Set and negotiate terms and conditions. Ensuring a positive and commercially viable partnership for each party.
  • Leadership: Leading people is your passion. Alongside your key functional responsibilities, you will be fully responsible for leading, coaching and developing your team by identifying their strengths, development areas and training needs.

  • You gained 8+ years of relevant work experience in consumer-oriented commercial, partner-facing, or highly analytical roles. E-commerce industry required, sports e-commerce a plus.
  • You are a strategic commercial thinker with impressive analytical skills and critical mindset to ensure financial targets for applicable sports brands are in place and most relevant sports brands operating at Zalando.
  • You have proven experience In depth understanding of the European sports marketplace and new trends which are happening at the global sports market
  • You are outstanding in stakeholder management across internal stakeholders and external stakeholders to ensure transparency across stakeholders and having one tone of voice towards partners.
  • You have a strong understanding of negotiation on how most relevant sports brands think and how to build win-win situations between Zalando Sports and partners.
  • You have a solid understanding of the P&L lines in an e-commerce - retailing environment, and empathy for the needs of a consumer brand
  • Being a leader who has experience in steering small, but senior teams, by supporting, engaging and inspiring them. You will be directly reporting into the Head of Category Sports and guiding more junior members of the Sports SPM team when it comes to account planning and negotiation. You love developing people, training and acting as a role model for the team.
  • You have outstanding communication skills and can drive projects with different teams across the organisation, including senior management stakeholders
