POSITION SUMMARY: The Buyer is responsible for ensuring that the merchandise strategy for the assigned departments meets or exceeds financial plans. Acts as leader with the cross functional teams (buying, planning, visual merchandising, design, Global Merchandising, and allocation).


  • Owner of the business - Responsible for the day-to-day product and financial management
  • Responsible for product life cycle including: style/assortment set up, order entry, markdowns, receipt management and inventory discrepancy reconciliation.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and seasonal sales and inventory analysis reports.
  • Manage all operational aspects of the business.
  • Partner with planning and store allocation team to ensure merchandise distribution strategies are executed
  • Make business recommendations re: opportunities based on trend, prior experience, data and analysis.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the OTB with the support of the Planning team while maintaining and tracking receipts.
  • Visit the stores regularly to review merchandise, presentation, identify problems, gain feedback and initiating actions accordingly.
  • Maintain industry awareness and knowledge through brick-and-mortar store and online retailers
  • Build and maintains strong cross functional relationships among CKI internal teams and all third party/exclusive vendors.
  • Maintain strong skills in business programs in working with all internal systems. IP and the Cube."


Experience: Minimum of 5 years of retail buying experience.

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent


  • Strong presenter with the ability to lead
  • Must be highly organized & possess strong analytical skills.
  • Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google applications, etc
  • Flexible to deadline demands, ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
