Summary Statement:

The Senior Manager, Merchandising Strategy is a critical role within Bergdorf Goodman's corporate team. This role will report to the Chief Merchant and will be responsible for translating data analytics into business insights and driving strategic and profitable investment through data-driven decisioning. This person will play a pivotal role in developing and executing the overall BG Merchandising strategy, focusing on targeted analysis to support brand partner negotiations. This person will also be an active partner with business leaders across multiple functions to consult on a broad range of business and supports growth and maintenance of all brand partner relationships. They will thrive in a dynamic environment, excel at working with a global audience, and enjoy handling multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Support the design and execution of our organizational Merchandising Strategy alongside the Chief Merchant
  • Prepare executive level presentations and supporting materials, in partnership with other NMG leaders, as applicable
  • Partner with company leadership to drive complex, cross-functional strategic initiatives that impact all aspects of the business and organization
  • Collaborate with teams to drive innovation, improve processes, and implement new tools

Manage specific processes including but not limited to:
    • Managing a portfolio of project(s) and / or workstreams for the Merchant organization
    • Facilitating project meetings to gather applicable information


Technical Qualifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint and Excel with demonstrated experience developing executive-level presentations
  • Experience managing large-scale, multi-phased program effort
  • Ability to take multiple and complex inputs and concepts and distill into simple, relevant, and executable strategies that are relevant, pragmatic, easy-to-execute, and drive impact
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and communications insights to stakeholders - as well as to get creative when data does not readily exist
  • Demonstrated ability in leading complex projects and driving results
  • Demonstrated time management skills that enable on-time, high-quality project delivery with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Self-driven, innovative strategic thinker who is resourceful and able to look beyond existing business and technology limitations
  • Demonstrated ability to persuade, influence, and execute innovative methods and processes
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with an ability to motivate, influence, collaborate, and work closely both in-function and across the organization
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal relationship skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work both in a team and independently within a high pressure, deadline driven environment
