Overview
This is a hybrid role (3 days office/ 2 days remote) reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager. The Accounts Payable Team Lead will oversee all activities in the accounts payable function for UK, France, Spain. The role oversees a team of two Accounts Payable Assistants and is responsible for managing all aspects of the purchase ledger, managing 500+ suppliers and internal business partners and driving process improvements and utilising the systems (SAP, Esker, Sapphire) effectively across accounts payable function.
Your Mission:
- Leading the team to ensure that invoices are processed timely and coded accurately, open items on the AP sub-ledger are allocated timely and payment scheduled is followed
- Overseeing invoice authorisations from the business in Esker (invoice management tool)
- Reviewing payment runs for accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Leading vendor master creation and maintenance process
- Reviewing supplier accounts reconciliations
- Completing AP month-end tasks, including accruals proposal
- Preparing of VAT return (purchase ledger) and Intrastat filing
- Inbound shipment / duties reconciliation (working with Logistics and Inventory Departments)
- Cashflow forecast support
- Formalisation of process notes (e.g. invoice process, payment) with Internal Control Manager
- Accounts payable status and performance reporting
- KPI set up and team members management, training & support
Your Talent:
- 5+ years of experience in accounts payable with some years managing team
- Good communicator - writing and verbal
- Ability to prioritise and multitask
- Approachable and able to network across the business
- Well organised
- Problem solver
Systems and Essentials:
- Understanding of VAT
- Basic understand of custom and duties
- Excellent Excel skills
- Ability to use SAP or similar accounting software
- French and/or Spanish language is a plus
