Shrimps is a fashion label from London-based designer Hannah Weiland, launched in 2013.
With a background in History of Art and Surface Textile Design, Weiland takes her inspiration from the witticisms of modern art and a playful engagement with pattern and texture.

 

Initially renowned for colourful faux fur outerwear, bringing the material to the luxury sphere and leading the conversation on cruelty-free fashion, Shrimps now has a full ready-to-wear offering and is renowned for its handmade accessories.

The Role: Operations & Commercial Manager

 

Shrimps is looking for a ‘Operations and Commercial Manager” to join the senior management team. Reporting to the Founder/Creative Director you will provide operational and commercial support and strategic leadership to drive Shrimps forward through its next growth stage.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Collaborate with the Founder/Creative Director in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy and business leadership
  • Provide commercial operational leadership overseeing the eCommerce, Wholesale, Production and Supply Chain functions within the business.
  • Identify areas of strategic growth to drive sale’s in both the eCommerce and Wholesale channels.
  • Constant review and development of processes, policies and procedures aiming for operational excellence
  • Work cross-functionally with the eCommerce, Wholesale and Production teams to range plan, stock forecasting and management, purchasing and management.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Director to help manage cashflow, create budgets and forecasts, monitoring expenditures and costs.
  • Maintain and build trusted relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Set and oversee the company calendar, monitoring projects and timelines from ideation to completion.
  • Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building an inclusive and high performing culture
  • Manage weekly meetings with team and identify any issues to be addressed.
  • Other related duties that maybe required from time to time.

 

 

The Person:

 

  • Experience in a similar relevant position with demonstrable knowledge of multichannel consumer businesses.
  • A background or strong understanding of eCommerce / DTC brands preferable
  • Very strong communication skills with excellent use of written English
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills; ability to summarize data and information clearly and efficiently
  • Strong experience using excel for data analysis and reporting
  • Well-organized and efficient with good time-management and prioritization
  • A self-starter and motivated person, who can demonstrate initiative and is able to work independently when needed
  • Accountability and ownership of challenges and the ability to follow through.
  • Creative problem solver with an analytical and methodical approach to tasks
  • Able to drive process improvements and create regular and ad hoc reports
  • Commercially minded and keen to grow with the business
  • Flexible team player with strong communication skills and enthusiasm
