Job Summary:

The UKG Expert will act as the subject matter expert for data entry/audit, system and business configurations as well as all reporting. The UKG Expert will also be able to assist with implementing, managing, and improving all People & Culture functions within the HRIS system. The Expert will support the payroll team in weekly, bi-weekly and monthly payroll processing for both our Corporate and Retail/Field employees. Freelance assignment anticipated to last through December 2022. This role is hybrid in-office/work from home.

HRIS Responsibilities:

  • Front-line support for all HRIS based maintenance such as but not limited to creating positions, processing orgs changes, adding new locations / departments, etc.
  • Serve as a point of contact for managers and employees for questions and problems relating to the HRIS system (UKGPro) and employee data, including system password, resets, and access assistance.
  • Responsible for the data integrity in UKG; this includes entering new hires, terminations, compensation changes, transfers, etc.
  • Provides ad-hoc, standard and complex reporting of employee information as requested, and supports Federal, State, and Local Government reporting requirements using the Business Intelligence (BI) tool.
  • Coordinates and implements the resolution of technical issues or problems related to HRIS.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity, and maintain security roles and rights across all modules (e.g. Employee set up, design, problem solving).
  • Responsible for investigating data errors and correcting them as appropriate to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in the development of standard and custom reports, or deliver ad-hoc reports, based on requests and business requirements.
  • Serve as a key contributor in various HRIS activities. This includes:
    • Train system users on functionalities and new features
    • Provide HRIS technical support and guidance to HRIS users
    • Manage permissions, access, personalization, and similar system operations and settings for HRIS users
    • Export regular and ad hoc reports from our internal databases
    • Provide expert support for all application/technology related questions, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues with UKG.
    • Analyze current systems and recommend solutions to resolve problems or improve efficiency.

Payroll Responsibilities:

  • Act as payroll backup to our Payroll Manager, learning the payroll process and supporting time sheet administration, sales commissions, pre-payroll reporting, post-payroll reporting, and addressing employee questions, while also ensuring compliance with all governmental regulations.
  • Administration of the timekeeping systems for non-exempt employees including review of submitted data for completeness, accuracy, and proper manager approval.
  • Partner with Payroll team to process pay corrections and adjustments as needed

Desired Background:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience may be substituted or combined with education.
  • 5+ years HCM experience inclusive of 3+ years UKG Pro HRIS experience required
  • Preferred 2+ years of Payroll and Reporting experience
  • Experience with HCM configuration in areas such as timekeeping, benefits, training, talent acquisition, and payroll
  • Experience with BI reporting and analysis required
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll related laws and regulations

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment Self-starter and hands-on individual
  • Expert-level with Microsoft Excel and proficient in other MS applications.
  • Serve as internal subject Matter expert on UKG Pro, UKG Ready (Workforce Management), Business Intelligence
  • Excellent analytical, technical and project management skills
  • Able to handle data, reports and information in a confidential manner at all times
  • Must be detail oriented and extremely organized
