THE ROLE & THE TEAM
The Connected Retail service gives physical retailers a chance to connect to the Zalando platform and sell products directly to our growing customer base. More than 6,000 brick-and-mortar stores in 13 European markets have already become part of our network, and generate relevant shares of their revenue through it. As part of the larger Zalando Platform, our Connected Retail operations offers software for our partners’ physical stores in order to enhance sales, decrease cost and smoothen in-store operations. These solutions help our partners win in the Zalando ecosystem and beyond.

The successful cooperation with different last mile logistics partners (CEP-service providers) in 13 European markets allows our retailers to send their parcels to Zalando’s 34m end customers. Our logistics team develops and implements fit for purpose last mile carrier solutions for the brick & mortar stores of our partners in all Connected Retail live countries and manages the daily operations of our logistics network.

As our new Carrier Manager for Germany (m/w/d) you are responsible for our business relations with CEP-service providers in Germany. The successful cooperation with different last mile logistics partners (CEP-service providers) reassures that our retailers distribute their parcels within Europe. Our mission is to offer our partners high quality carriers suitable for brick & mortar stores in the “last mile” and simultaneously our logistics team takes care of the development of this cooperation and manages the daily operations of our logistics network.

WHY YOU SHOULD BE INTERESTED
  • Establish and develop partnerships with last mile service providers
  • Purchase of last mile services and preparation of collective negotiations
  • Preparation and performance of regular Business Reviews / creation of new processes
  • Operational support to the service providers in the day-to-day business as well as monitoring and evaluation of service provider performance
  • Partner support in the daily business around last mile carrier management topics throughout the partner journey from onboarding to offboarding
WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
  • You bring previous last mile (CEP) experience at carrier or retailer level, preferably 3+ years
  • You have advanced language skills in German and English (written and spoken)
  • You are good at establishing new processes and time management plus you can identify process improvements with your data-informed approach
