About the role

HEAD OF PAYROLL F/M/D

We are looking to hire a Paris based Head of Payroll to join the People team reporting to the CPO. This leadership position is responsible for managing our global payroll operations. You will handle European and Asian payroll and work closely with our outsourcers in order to grant the execution of one of the key facets of HR.

What you will do

  • As the head of Payroll, your role is to ensure the run in existing countries and implementation of new countries of our global payroll supporting our HR Operation.
  • You will ensure the processing of the monthly payroll for our French and International entities (in cooperation with local providers), including benefits and taxes to our employees
  • You will own the excellent delivery of operational payroll lifecycle in all countries where VC is present from onboarding to off-boarding, including preparation of appropriate paperwork or implementation of processes
  • Develop and maintain documentation for Payroll procedures and internal controls
  • You will effectively manage vendors, ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements
  • You will be the point of contact for all employees' requests and queries
  • Manage the regular preparation of relevant management reports, including bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, time-off benefit accruals, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.)
  • You will ensure compliance with all applicable country, federal, state and local regulatory reporting requirements and guidelines, and compliance with all internal Policies and Procedures and internal controls
  • You will be in charge knowledge of existing and new payroll related legislation; you will enforce adherence to requirements and advise management on needed actions
  • You maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee data; ensure all payroll information, files and records are maintained in accordance with all local regulations
  • You will be a team player creating collaborative relationships across the team and company through consistent and prompt interaction.


Who you are

  • You have more than 7 years of experience as a global payroll manager
  • You are fully proficient in French and English
  • You have a significant experience handling payroll in France and abroad
  • You are an excellent stakeholder, people management, problem solving and planning skills, including with globally diverse teams
  • You are a team player with a passion for People and you love to see them thrive in the workplace
  • You have a problem-solving mindset: you go beyond identifying issues or challenges and focus on how to address them
  • You have great communication skills across languages and cultures with an ability to build trust-based relationships at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders
  • You have the ability to handle numerous priorities in a dynamic and growing environment.
