The People Services Generalist, Customer Care is responsible for supporting and delivering exceptional service to our Customer Care associates in a flexible, hybrid work environment. This highly visible and interactive position plays an integral role in the workplace experience, by welcoming new associates, communicating initiatives, answering associate questions and providing guidance at all stages of the associate lifecycle while upholding our NMG Values. This role partners with key leadership positions from the Customer Care operational side and People Services side to deliver on NMG's goals. This position reports to the Manager, People Services, Supply Chain and Group Operations.

Job Duties:
  • Serve as the primary People Services contact for general questions and concerns from associates via multiple channels (email, phone, chat). Build trust, relationships and credibility with associates and leaders by establishing exceptional partnerships
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, Training and Hiring managers on the talent attraction and onboarding process, coordinate and communicate with new hires to plan for their first day, and deliver local and/or virtual new hire orientations
  • Complete administrative tasks which may include creating and maintaining associate files, overseeing payroll processes, entering associate data changes in the HRIS database, completing unemployment claims
  • Partner with leaders and associates regarding leave of absence policies and process as needed; manage communication with external partners and maintain tracking of all leaves
  • Assist with responding to employee relations concerns and support internal investigations. Coach leaders on the performance management process and participate in delivery of progressive discipline and performance improvement plans.
  • Craft and provide regular and ad-hoc associate communications that spark interest and engagement from associates related to important events and company-wide initiatives
  • Conduct exit interviews with associates to gather key attrition insights
  • Support the quarterly goal setting process and educate associates on resources to drive their career growth with The Neiman Marcus Group
  • Help support the People Services team by partnering on tasks at hand within other associate groups in Supply Chain and Group Operations as needed
  • Conduct a regular audit of associate records, ensuring accuracy between the internal HRIS system and published organizational charts
  • Monitor practices to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding employment practices.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field
  • 2-3 years experience in a Human Resources role required
  • Bilingual Spanish/English highly preferred
  • Knowledge of major employment laws, and familiarity with the latest HR trends
  • Interpersonal skills and genuine customer service orientation. Must have a positive demeanor with energy, drive and persistence to achieve goals
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Strong problem-solving and creative/critical thinking skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Office 365 (emphasis on Excel)
  • Knowledge of Oracle HRIS, UKG Dimensions, ADP Payroll and Taleo ATS (Preferred)
  • Solid professional presentation skills and ability to deliver messages clearly and effectively
  • PHR or SRHM-CP (preferred)
  • Hybrid work environment, must live within DFW Metroplex and able to visit various locations within the metroplex as needed
