The Team The Swimwear Merchandising team is responsible for driving and implementing the collection- and merchandising strategy in line with business targets and in line with consumer- and market trends.

On a cross-functional level, the Swimwear Merchandising team closely interacts with the following teams:
  • Design: A combined Design function that ensures we stay close to our DNA and clearly differentiate our lifestyles, while driving product excellence and elevation through deep creative expertise
  • Product Development: The technical function that drives the development footprint and the technical product development of all product created in Amsterdam for CK Europe
  • Buying and Planning: An integrated Buying & Planning expertise center that balances flexibility and (cost) efficiency by working closely with production partners and product creation and sales functions
  • GTM - Key contact to support all country sales teams with presenting the collection, support key account meetings and ensure effective and consistent communication between division, country sales and retail.
  • Marketing: A highly skilled marketing machine that drives brand awareness and engagement with consumer centric campaigns that amplify our lifestyle and product messaging while developing a strong I&D platform

Position Description

This is a Manager role responsible for the creation and implementation of a regional product collection in the swimwear and lifestyle categories. The position reports directly into the Senior Merchandising Manager and supports her/him with the key product creation for the regions for all full price channels.

The role encompasses the creation of seasonal product merchandising plans, which include both seasonal product and replenishment.

A strong knowledge of the product requirements for each European market and making sure that these requirements translate into product is key. Since this position is a crucial connecting function between the different departments in the development and merchandising process, the candidate must possess very strong creative and analytical skills. He or she will also have great communication, negotiation and influencing skills, not only in order to deliver an on-target collection that will drive sales, but also to ensure synergies with CK Underwear and other CK divisions are being maximized.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be the product creation specialist for the European region and the point of contact for all channels and departments
  • Create seasonal strategy and merchandising plans with support of Senior Merchandising Manager and Senior Merchandising Director
  • Follow execution to assure overall growth and margin targets are met
  • Drive cross-departmental execution between Design, Merchandising, Sourcing, Planning, Sales and Marketing/PR/Visual Merchandising
  • Work closely with Marketing/PR/Visual Merchandising departments on a seasonal marketing plan which will raise brand awareness and drive sales
  • Present product strategy to the relevant markets and ensure launches are correctly supported
  • Own seasonal projections and pricing for fashion and new launches
  • Partner with Planning/Forecasting on all pre-market buying commitments and projections
  • Conduct research related to product, competitors, market and consumer trends
  • Reports directly into the Senior Merchandising Manager

Experience and Qualifications
  • BA Degree or better in a Fashion Merchandising or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years work experience

Requirements
  • Excellent organizational, communication and negotiating skills necessary
  • Proactive working attitude, wanting to drive things forward
  • High level of accuracy and analytical skills
  • Excellent English communication written and verbal
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel and Power Point, Adobe Illustrator is a plus
  • Brand ambassador / passionate about the product
  • Team player, global mindset, strong interest in fashion and market trends
  • Excellent Computer skills including Excel and Power Point; PDM literate is a plus

Conditions
  • Living in the surroundings of Amsterdam or willing to relocate to the Netherlands
