Senior Product Developer, Outerwear (6-month contract)

Full Time

Responsible for sample development and order allocation for the brand and collaborate with different teams. Assist the supervisor for the day to day execution and operations in line with the brand's strategy to achieve KPIs.

  • Communication with vendors, suppliers and business counter-parts for development
  • Ensure quality of product and achievement of margin and sustainability targets throughout the product development process, by collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and vendors
  • Ensure on time sample delivery and attend various meetings (e.g. sketch review, proto review, final cost meeting, raw material meeting, live model & virtual fitting, strike offs review)
  • Price negotiation and cost expectation management
  • Cost analysis management and problem shooting
  • Fabric development with vertical vendors and ensure fabric quality to meet PVH and local markets' test requirements
  • Manage color approval on fabric sourced by vertical vendors
  • Provide cost implications and call out potential quality risks to designers/regional merchandising team and provide feasible options
  • Review 3D sketches and advise comments to vendors
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of data in PLM (e.g. BOM, prices, mandatory fields)
  • Development sample delivery tracking, update development sample list (FOB, Vendor, COO, MOQ, Production leadtime, Port of lading, sample charge)
  • Preview / comment on development sample and strike off
  • Work with vendor and business counter parts to build calendar from development to bulk shipment
  • Ensure garment/product integrity, style and product execution meet PVH / Country requirements
  • Compile various reports
  • Assist supervisor to deliver on KPIs.
  • Verify development sample invoice before payment
  • Work with Supplier, Asia Design on new label / hangtag development
  • Follow up final FOB and A/C date for approval
  • Ensure Risk level of each product is in low risk before market week by working with related teams such as Raw Material, technical team and vendor to do risk assessment and find solutions.
  • Handover SMS to production team
  • Ad hoc tasks such as sample organizing, meeting preparation, etc.


Education & Experience
  • University/Engineering degree in fashion, textiles or clothing with minimum 4+ years of related work experience; or post-secondary degree with minimum of 5-8 years of related work experience in apparel, material or technical background
  • Should have experience in buying/trading office or manufacturing environment.
  • Product knowledge of apparel in outerwear, woven, knits and sweaters categories including PD process preferably
  • Knowledge in fabrics/trims quality
  • Experience in product development and knowledge on testing requirements (GB test) for Asia markets preferable

  • Apparel, material or technical background preferred.
  • Builds good working relationships; collaborates toward deadlines and deliverables.
  • Able to communicate effectively across the team and organization; effectively works at long distances
  • Good aesthetic and sense in making commercial judgement
  • Well organized, self-motivated, strong problem solving skill
  • Able to work in a highly productive and fast paced environment with a hands-on approach
  • Familiar to use PLM is an advantage
  • Proficient in Powerpoint and Excel including V-look up and Pivot table functions
  • Good command of written & spoken English and Mandarin
