About the Role

The Change Management Center of Excellence team is part of the Digital Transformation Office. The Digital Transformation Office leads business technology change for Gap Inc's Digital modernization multi-year transformational journey.

The Senior Manager - Change Management Center of Excellence will focus on building, leading and managing sustainable change for our digital transformation, including assessing and articulating the level of change needed to enable adoption and sustainability of organizational changes, with the goal of increasing profitability across Gap, Inc. They will partner with the DTO Program Management and Brand Business Transformation and Change Management teams to facilitate the people side of change for Gap, Inc's Digital Transformation.

The Senior Manager, Change Management - Digital Product Creation Transformation, plays a critical role within the Digital Product Creation pillar to transform the way we bring product to market. The Digital Product Creation transformation encompasses the digitalization of our product creation operating model from ideation to manufacturing to improve product design, innovation, quality and relevance for our customers, as well as supporting employee and business goals. This is a multi-year transformation that is integral to digitalizing our end-to-end value chain.

This role supports leadership and key business partners in developing, implementing and supporting transformational change in our product creation processes. This includes: envisioning new operating models and ways of working inclusive of people, process and tools; conducting workshops with cross-functional partners to solution or redesign processes; building roadmaps and storylines to drive leadership and partner buy-in; and develops change management strategies and performs change assessments. The Senior Manager also manages and tracks program and change deliverables and actions upon interdependencies across workstreams and other transformation pillars.

The successful individual in this role has experience in operational transformation programs at a retailer, either internally or as a consultant. This role deals well with ambiguity, applies an analytical mindset, and drives for results in a collaborative way. This individual is also comfortable navigating a complex organization and influencing senior business partners.

What You'll Do

  • Oversees, develops and executes comprehensive change management strategies for organizational transformation initiatives across our digital space. This includes deliverables such as: impact assessments, governance and sponsorship engagement strategies, sponsor roadmaps, and plans across communication, coaching, training, resistance management, sustainability, and measurement for adoption.
  • Manages a team of change managers and external contractors to deliver against priorities; ensure team has clear communication of project scope, timing, prioritization, resources needed, and progress on an ongoing basis.
  • Responsible for managing the business of change for their space; working with product management to understand project pipeline, maintaining critical relationships with stakeholders, working to secure needed resources, ensuring clear status and communication with program teams.
  • Partner with other DTO Change Management Team members and the Product Management Change Team to support development of a Change Management Center of Excellence for organization transformation and tool transitions.
  • Interfaces with all levels of management and leadership. Works as coach and internal change consultant to project sponsors, senior leadership and directors, and project teams. Inspires stakeholders to be change agents for the program and drives accountability.
  • Cultivates partnership, idea sharing, active listening and advocacy with peers (business leaders, product management, and stakeholders), facilitating new connections and relationship building.
  • Results oriented with a demonstrated sense of urgency and accountability to drive assigned projects to successful adoption; critical thinker who can anticipate roadblocks, develop mitigation strategies and proactively address.
  • Prepares and enables the business for change, including conducting business readiness assessments, developing training / roll out strategy, and communications strategy.
  • Documents operating model components and reengineers processes based on business partner inputs.


Who You Are

  • 7+ years' work experience, with minimum 2-3 years in a leadership capacity managing direct reports.
  • Experience in strategy/management consulting, retail/consumer products or similar strategic role preferred. Experience in an operational or change management role in returns, customer fulfillment, or contact center space highly preferred.
  • Ability to understand stakeholders/end users across multiple functions and geographies.
  • Experience implementing change efforts for high-complexity projects that impact multiple organizations.
  • Strong collaborator and communicator.
  • Ability to anticipate obstacles, offer solutions, identify resources, build relationships, and influence others to move toward a common vision or goal.
  • Familiarity with Organizational Design and Business Process principles.
