Position Overview:

Tiffany and Company is looking for a Manager, High Jewelry Diamond and Gemstone Acquisition to join their High Jewelry Diamond and Gemstone Acquisition teams in New York City. This person will work cross-functionally to manage the analytics and set pricing 6 carat + Diamonds, Rare Fancy Color Diamonds, Yellow Diamonds 6 Carat + and Colored Gemstones. Is the Subject Matter Expert for auction, historical and current market pricing, and manages, conducts, and leads research and reporting on market price trends, analyzing gemstone and diamond values. Manage the pricing of the HJ Diamond procurement and Blue Book Collection for the demand of 6 carat plus, RFCD, yellow and loose gemstones and ensure accuracy of orders and pricing align with demand received from cross functional teams.

Key Accountabilities:

Advanced Pricing Analysis & Alignment:
  • Manages, leads, and ensures collaboration cross-functionally on market pricing value analysis and cost price updates on 6 carats + Diamonds, Rare Fancy Color Diamonds, Yellow Diamonds 6 Carat + and colored gemstones. Is the Subject Matter Expert for auction, historical and current market pricing and manages the validat ion of market values for assigned categories on a quarterly basis.
  • Manage, conduct, and lead research on market price trends, analyze gemstone and diamond values based visual comparisons of attributes and further, in conjunction with pricing analysis, provide final market value judgment.
  • Manage valuations, ensuring accurate market values are provided for customer orders.
  • Provide lead pricing expertise to the department and cross functional teams, ensuring quality standards and gemological characteristics of colored stones and diamonds are conveyed and understood correctly.
  • Manage special projects for VP pertaining to gemological pricing trends and industry updates.
  • Participate and/or attend gemological industry related events, training and conferences as required.

Demand Management:
  • Manage the pricing of the HJ Diamond procurement process for the demand of 6 carat plus, RFCD, yellow and loose gemstones and ensure accuracy of orders and pricing align with demand received from cross functional teams.
  • Manage the Blue Book Collection pricing for the demand of diamond and colored gemstones to ensure accuracy of orders and pricing align with the designs and price targets received from cross functional teams, including design and CM.
  • Develop and manage a centralized SharePoint for short/long term and on-going project operations in collaboration with CM, TGL and GA grading labs, to improve data accuracy, process efficiency and speed to market.
  • Manage the forecasting of HJ Diamond and Gemstones in partnership with the CM and Finance Team.
  • Manage and report on the invoicing and payment of loose gemstones for Consignment events on an ongoing basis, in conjunction with Global Sales, Diamond Division and GA.
  • Ensures data integrity is sustained throughout and upon completion of procurement and manages JDE inquiries from cross functional teams.
  • Manage and develop new reporting needs on an ad hoc basis, create presentations and p rovide subject matter expertise in Tiffany Pricing Parameters for GA & DD.
  • This position may require additional projects and responsibilities as necessary to support Diamond Division and Gemstone Acquisition High Jewelry goals.
  • Process Improvement: review of existing processes and business needs and development of strategies for improvement and to achieve new business initiative.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication (both oral & written), organizational, follow-up and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated negotiating skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office - Work/Excel/Powerpoint).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Gemological Background is preferred, including a Graduate Gemologist diploma from the Gemological Institute of America.
  • Familiarity with purchasing systems and/or JD Edwards/E1.
