Job Details
The English and Communication Studies department is recruiting a pool of applicants for possible adjunct teaching positions in Communication Studies. Offerings in this area include EN 241 - Professional Speech Communication; EN 242 - Public Speaking; EN 245 - Intercultural Communication; EN 244 - Speech Dynamics in Group Communication; and EN 342 - Argumentation and Persuasion. Requirements:
Candidates should demonstrate professional experience and a scholarly record appropriate for teaching communication studies courses. PhD or ABD in Communication Studies or a closely related area is preferred. Candidates must have at least a Master's Degree, as well as thirty (30) additional and appropriate graduate credits and/or evidence of scholarly achievement, professional activities, and experience teaching similar courses at the college level. The requirement for the Master's Degree may be waived if the candidate is in a doctoral program in which the Master's Degree is not required, or if the proposed instructor has certification in a specific discipline.
Additional Information:
This is a part-time, adjunct teaching position beginning in [Spring 2022]. Review of applications will commence immediately and continue until the position is filled. The department will keep this posting open to create a pool of candidates for potential future adjunct assignments. The department will contact applicants whose qualifications fit our programmatic needs.
This position will be required to constantly read and comprehend, occasionally perform calculations, constantly verbally communicate, frequently analyze, and constantly write. The working conditions for this position will be any combination of the classroom, lab, and/or office space. Certain roles may be required to handle machinery and chemicals. The physical requirement for this position will require occasional sitting, constant standing, occasional bending, frequent walking, and occasionally lifting 10 lbs. or less.
