About the Opportunity

In this role you will support the finance function by completing the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements (both local and statutory) and assisting with all finance and business initiatives.

Your role
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare month end journal entries, assist with completing head office reporting requirements and prepare various management reporting schedules
  • Prepare financial analysis for key expense accounts as required
  • Assist wit maintaining the fixed asset register as required, including accurately booking assets and depreciation
  • Assisting with the profit planning/budgeting process as required
  • Intercompany transactions process including posting all required journal entries, preparing recharges and monthly reconciliations
  • Finance merchandise/inventory process - including assisting stores with all queries and accurately preparing and submitting customs draw back claims
  • New Zealand payroll process - review fortnightly pay runs, book month end journals to assist with employee queries and leave requests
  • Support all stores with finance queries
  • Employee sales/discounts - monitoring and reviewing monthly employee sales, discount rates and preparing employee sales calculations as required
  • Assist with all statutory filings as required - financial statements , income tax return, fringe benefit return, BAS, ASB reports and transfer pricing report

Ideal candidate
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
  • Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent
  • 3-5 years accounting experience (Big 4 or mid-tier public accounting company experience audit and retail/FMCG industry background preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS standards and key accounting concepts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • Experience with JDE, Hyperion or other ERP systems
  • Organized, analytical, problem solver with good communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and function amidst tight deadlines and changing priorities
