A Senior Account Manager is a highly skilled client manager, whose experience gained securing results and managing clients on a day to day basis, is further enhanced by their ability to think wider about the commercial levers that drive their clients’ decision making.  Their ability to provide creative and strategic solutions to clients is further enriched through their management of the team and through their understanding of all the integrated services Karla Otto has to offer to enhance the client proposition.

Key areas of responsibility are:

  • Expert delivery of day to day client relationship and account management
  • Maintain a constant presence with clients to ensure status as key contact for the duration of events and project planning
  • Ability to flex style to allow for the changing needs and budgets of clients; able to take on the role of “brand guardian” on agreed client accounts as well as operate as a second-in-command on larger, higher profile accounts
  • Takes the lead and utilises experience to deliver confident and credible client meetings
  • Strong relationships with industry peers, influencers and opinion formers
  • Build relationships across numerous external networks at a senior level that can be harnessed to drive client return on investments and identify new clients as well as nurture long standing relationships
  • Forge links with global offices and other divisions that support client uptake of other services and the use of other Karla Otto offices – think globally and horizontally to improve results for the brand and clients
  • Create and lead successful events and projects that deliver against client strategy and ensure maximum coverage and ROI for the client and Karla Otto
  • Confidently pitches digital solutions to new and existing clients to grow the uptake of digital services used by clients
  • Supports the junior team with their understanding of how digital communications can be merged with traditional PR strategies to increase client reach and support them with achieving their overall strategies
  • Takes every opportunity to learn more about the digital communications space and encourages team to embrace internal and external development opportunities specifically relating to the digital space     
  • Utilise data and analytics tools (e.g. Google analytics) to monitor the return on investment digital initiatives are providing and make suggestions to improves results were required
  • Knows the teams who work on digital media at the media companies
  • Understand digital media buys etc. the mix between organic / paid strategies
  • Maintain regular dialogue with clients to update on progress and results and ensure solution-focused interactions
  • Keep abreast of the environment that the business and our clients operate in; ensure a deep and broad knowledge of the commercial opportunities and challenges
  • Develop and demonstrate an expert knowledge of the media, digital, cultural and luxury landscape and share knowledge amongst team and the wider business
  • Deliver robust people management; team development, recruitment, mentoring and escalating issues to senior team
  • Role model for junior team members; utilising experience and knowledge of key activities to support with the smooth running of vital processes
  • Monitor and analyse internal and client reporting. Ability to clearly articulate findings and strategically drive numbers

  • Extensive experience as a high performing Account Manager in a fast-paced agency environment
  • Interest in culture, arts, fashion and lifestyle and can talk confidently about how these elements can be used to enhance or client offering
  • Oversee the monitoring and sharing of press, online and social media coverage
  • Actively seeks opportunities to learn something new and broaden their experiences and is open to working across a number of sectors to build skills and share knowledge
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), research and organisational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, prioritise own work in a fast-paced environment as well as mentor other members of the team
  • Takes time to build relationships that allow for a clear understanding of priorities and motivators both internally and externally
  • Able to manage upwards as well as downwards and can confidently make suggestions and bring ideas to the wider team that focus on client experience and brand success
  • High level of attention to detail and the ability to present and interpret quantitative and qualitative data
  • Fashion show experience essential
  • Positive attitude to challenging situations and a willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty in order to complete a project accurately and on time
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic
  • Strong work ethic
  • Must be efficient in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Fashion GPS
