About the Role

The COS Spread Analyst is part of the Gap Brand Finance team, responsible for all non-merch product costs and distribution center operating expenses for Gap specialty and factory stores and Online in North America. Aside from working closely with the Gap FP&A team, primary business partners are Global Production (GP), Global Merchandising, GIS Hub Finance, and Corporate Shared Services Center (CSSC) Finance.

What You'll Do

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • COS Spread consists of several line items that determine the financial margin of the brand, primarily including Lower of Cost or Market (LCM), Fabric Liability, Production Samples, Shrink, Vendor Discounts and Recoveries, and Merchandise Cost Discrepancies
  • Global Supply Chain expenses include DC, freight and parcel
  • Key COS Spread/Fulfilment processes include managing monthly fabric liability and samples review with Production, working with Inventory Control on shrink and below-cost inventory, and working with Logistics to understand DC, Freight and Parcel
  • Maintain effective relationships with a variety of business partners within GP and Merchandising, GIS Hubs, and CSSC
  • Manage monthly and quarterly forecasts as well as annual budget
  • Provide ad hoc analytics and special projects based on business results and cost variances
  • Create analyses to create clear risk and opportunity plans based on FP&A team goals
  • Take initiative to drive change and improve effectiveness and efficiency
  • Establish a track record of clear communication up and across the organization
  • Provide support to Manager for ad hoc control deliverables


Who You Are

  • Bachelors degree required
  • 1-3 years of accounting, finance, and/or business analysis
  • High level of individual accountability and motivation
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt work style/processes in a fast paced environment, while remaining deadline oriented
  • Ability to build relationships on a cross-functional team and influence others through financial analysis
  • Self-motivated: able to make thoughtful, calculated decisions, follow through with responsibilities and be accountable for results
  • Experience with Essbase/Smartview and Oracle desired
  • Proficient in Excel, Powerpoint, Word
