The People Operations Coordinator is responsible for providing a great employee experience through effective administration of HR operations and systems such as Paychex.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Paychex: Employee Data & Changes (including on/offboarding); Employee questions
  • Process payroll and maintain compliant records
  • Support HR/people operations systems, including but not limited to the identification, implementation, and might assist with roll-out of online time off tracking system
  • Manage Employee Files: Personnel, Benefits, etc.
  • New Hire Onboarding Process Administration; ex: Coordinate to ensure new hire has appropriate technology and logins; help ensure new hire is set-up
  • Benefits Administration: provide new hire benefits overview; support employees with enrolling and/or making changes if appropriate; COBRA; 401(k); Leaves of Absence administration; answers routine employee questions; assists with annual open enrollment
  • Perform HR audits and make corrections as needed
  • Maintains HR compliance in a manner that sets the company and employees up for success
  • Assist in updating company organizational chart (add new hires and remove terms)
  • Assist with ensuring and updating job descriptions for distribution/posting and assist with posting
  • Talent Acquisition: assist with scheduling; perform reference checks; might assist in screening entry level talent
  • Helps create HR/people operational ease for the company and employees
  • Assist and support company HR/people initiatives

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of US payroll processing experience with exempt & non-exempt workforce
  • 1+ years of HRIS/Payroll systems experience
  • NJ or NY location and knowledge of local employment law
  • Knowledge of US employee benefits or desire to learn
  • Detail Oriented
  • Client Oriented (employees are people operations clients)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Desire to work in HR/People Operations, learn, and assume additional responsibilities as appropriate
