About the Role

As part of the brand finance team, this highly visible position will lead the monthly forecast/close and annual budget processes for the North America Stores & Field organizations for the Gap Specialty and Outlet channels. This position will partner with field leadership, stores, operations, company planning, and finance leadership to provide strong financial analysis to help drive profitable growth. This position reports to the Finance Director - Stores, Marketing, & Divisional.

This role is based out of the New York office and requires you to be in the office on an occasional basis for critical in-person meetings and/or job duties that cannot be performed remotely. What You'll Do

  • Manage store labor and other controllable expense budgets, ensuring they are aligned to business objectives, financial targets, and productivity strategies
  • Manage the setting of quarterly store incentive targets for the field, evaluate performance against targets. Partner with leadership to set targets which best motivate delivering strong financial results.
  • Analyze trends, summarize findings, present recommendations to Executive and Finance Leadership Teams to help drive cost and efficiency improvement
  • Provide timely & actionable reporting which supports management and decision-making
  • Prepare and ensure accuracy of financial statements and ad-hoc requests distributed to Gap management/leadership and Corporate Finance
  • Maintain effective relationships with a variety of business partners including Global Finance Hubs, and our Corporate Shared Services Center
  • Collaborate with peers to ensure consistency of information and reports, share best practices, and develop a sound understanding of systems knowledge
  • Establish a track record of clear communication up, down, and across the organization
  • Develop and manage 2 direct reports

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
  • 7+ years of financial or business analysis
  • Strong knowledge of financial and accounting concepts, including basic framework of the Profit & Loss Statement, Retail Finance knowledge a plus
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, including ability to formulate business strategy
  • Effective communication and presentation skills with all levels of the organization
  • Strong technical aptitude, including ability and desire to learn company systems and tools and ability to perform root cause analysis
  • Proven experience in managing and developing a team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt work style/processes in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with a large amount of detail without losing sight of the big picture
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence decision-making with cross-functional business partners and leadership
  • Self-motivated, able to make quick, calculated decisions, follow through with responsibilities and be accountable for results
  • Advanced competency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Essbase strongly preferred
  • East coast working hours required
