Job description: 

To curate and style fashion content across Wardrobe ICONS’ platforms, including the digital magazine, web shop, social channels and newsletters. Working closely with the founders, the fashion/shopping editor will produce cover stories and fashion and lifestyle pages for The ICONS Update, the platform’s bimonthly digital magazine. This is a highly creative role that will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to participate in cover shoots, styling and trend reporting.

Responsibilities and duties: 

The fashion/shopping editor will perform a wide range of tasks necessary to the visual merchandising of the website and selection of products. They will be involved in projects from conception to completion, from identifying trends to proposing themes for the W.ICONS audience.

  • Working closely with the co-founders on the content strategy and planning of The ICONS Update digital magazine
  • The opportunity to style photo shoots, including cover stars, for The ICONS Update
  • Working closely with social media and features editors to plan and implement content accordingly, taking into consideration the weekly sales and stats reports
  • Working closely with the commercial director and digital executive to ensure the product selections fulfil any advertising obligations
  • Monitoring stock availability and using reports to continually update wardrobeicons.com with suitable, seasonally appropriate products, merchandised to an optimum level
  • Working closely with the digital executive to make sure the homepage is updated weekly with relevant content
  • Selecting and uploading products to the site using the content management system
  • Supporting the editorial staff in all activities relating to the production of The ICONS Update
  • Sourcing images and products for features in The ICONS Update, and merchandising effectively
  • Providing the management team with a monthly update on their department’s performance based on the company’s KPIs set out for the year

Skills and experience required

Communication skills: 

  • The ability to build and maintain strong, independent relationships with the W.ICONS team
  • A high standard of both written and verbal English in order to communicate effectively with brands and the team alike

Administrative/managerial responsibilities: 

  • Allocating tasks to the digital executive, digital assistant and anyone undertaking work experience at W.ICONS
  • Overseeing and coordinating the workload with the editorial assistant 

Essential technical skills: 

  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS 
  • Basic knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Extensive experience of WordPress and content management systems 
  • Good knowledge of Photoshop
  • Experience in using affiliate sites such as RewardStyle, Awin and Rakuten 
  • Good knowledge of best-practice SEO
