About

The Designer Relations & Membership Department primarily works towards London Fashion Week and onboarding new members to our Membership scheme, along with additional designer support and communications.

The Designer Relations & Membership Department is looking for an ambitious and highly motivated experienced manager to lead the Designer Relations & Membership team and support Director of Designer Relations & Membership to deliver the Executive Board’s strategy.

 

 

 

The Manager will be the main point of contact within the organisation for designer relations and expertise; overseeing, delivering and supporting the team in curating the London Fashion Week’s catwalk, presentation and events on digital and physical schedules. Responsible for developing and boarding new Designers Members, nurturing new and existing designer and PR relationships; and working closely with the communications department on Designer Member communications.

 

 

 

The role is integral to the BFC for designer and industry relations and engagement.

 

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

Company

  • Support Director of Designer Relations & Membership to develop the department’s strategy and objectives in line with the BFC’s shared vision Work with other senior managers and managers across the business to give strategic insight and direction on events and initiatives to Senior Management and CEO

 

 

Team

  • Manage direct reports, overseeing the delivery of their work, career development and well-being Oversee department budget for income and expenditure Actively encourage the onboarding of new Designer Members & LFW designers

 

 

Events: Digital/ Physical

  • Working with the Director of Designer Relations & Membership to develop and deliver a strategy for targeting new brands to showcase at LFW and feature on the LFW digital platform. Manage critical path and team to deliver all designer content for the LFW digital platform; designer profiles, BFC own content and the digital & physical schedules. Work closely with the communications & marketing team to manage digital content process for the LFW platform and digital schedule Oversee the process of curating the official catwalk and presentation schedules for LFW & LFW digital platform from application through to contract and invoice stage. Manage the LFW E-panel process and list, working with the comms team to achieve a diverse representation Work with external agencies during LFW to ensure the prompt start of physical activations Contribute to post event debriefs across the company

 

 

Membership

  • Manage/produce new Designer Member outreach list to achieve targets and KPI’s set for the department. Produce quarterly member engagement reports for board Oversee Designer Member application process, approving applications with sign off from the head of department. Manage the process for onboarding all new approved Designer Members to the Member platform, producing a profile for each and ensuring they are included in all BFC comms. Work closely with the Business Development and Comms team to help deliver Designer Member newsletters and annual programme of webinars/seminars

 

 

Relations

  • Manage relations with all new and existing Designer Members, LFW designers & emerging designers Work with Business Support to ensure designer challenges are raised and dealt with as best as possible Identify emerging designer talent for events and initiatives, managing comms outreach Work closely with the Commercial team to develop brand opportunities for Designer Members and LFW designers

 

 

Other

  • Create LFW & designer feedback survey and report on ROI across events Work with the Finance Department to ensure designer payments are made, payment plans are set and two-way feedback with regards to any challenges which arise Create designer target lists as required, for both internal and external purposes, responding to briefs Create succinct internal reports and quarterly board reports on activity, KPIs, challenges in achieving KPIs and team feedback Oversee the development and management of the internal designer database Help develop a strategy for the model programme at LFW in conjunction with the AMA and BFC CEO

 

 

Key relationships

  • Designers, PRs, Model Agents, Casting Directors, Ambassador for Emerging Talent, Show Productions/Production Agencies, initiatives sponsors were appropriate

  • Extensive industry experience Extensive industry knowledge, including international, British brands and positioning in the market Ability to manage budgets, drive engagement and sales Ability to manage and motivate a team, fostering a culture of support and collaboration Strong negotiation skills, whilst remaining diplomatic and encouraging Strong communication and exceptional organisational skills Strong cross-functional and department partnership skills Strong IT skills

 

 

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary dependent on experience 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays + Christmas eve + half day for birthday Summer Hours (July & August) Company Pension Contribution Standard company working hours, flexibility required during events, exhibitions, etc. The BFC team is currently working from home in line with government guidance – any new starters may work remotely initially depending on government guidelines.
