We aim to provide an environment for creative minds from different backgrounds to thrive, bringing a wide range of skills and experiences to everything we do. As a purposeful, values-driven brand, we are committed to being a force for good in the world as well, creating the next generation of sustainable luxury for customers, driving industry change and championing our communities.

JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Editorial Director, the Deputy Editor plays a key role in the creation of brand and product storytelling - from brainstorming and concepting creative ideas to writing and editing engaging stories - and in working with channels to manage the roll-out of storytelling against a multi-layered content plan, embedding the brand into every touchpoint across 10+ Burberry social platforms, Burberry.com, email, gaming, Burberry Beauty, the Burberry App and UX copy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Work with channel leads, to manage and execute a multi-layered, multi-channel content matrix for unified campaign storytelling across all touchpoints, for review.

· Lead in the design and build of new processes to support product needs through content. Develop flexible processes to accommodate marketing requirements, business complexity and ad hoc requests.

· Support the Editorial Director, Burberry.com team, product and digital marketing leads, creative media department, brand experience team, events and beauty teams in creating compelling campaign narratives and storytelling.

· Run a weekly content meeting for Burberry.com, to ensure business needs are being supported by Editorial.

· Identify ways to drive efficiency.

· Working with analytics, understand what content provides a meaningful ROI and marketing value, enabling the Editorial team to double-down on producing content that generates engagement and transactional page referrals, and scale back on content that doesn't provide good results.

· Work with the SEO team to ensure that all copy is optimised and delivering best practice standards.

· Review, edit and be accountable for all copy written by the copywriting team - including planned campaign editorial, larger scale social innovations and reactive content.

· React to Burberry and cultural events, working quickly and on some weekends and evenings to deliver content.

· Work closely with social and press teams on editorial content roll-out, to amplify stories.

· Report directly to the Editorial Director to develop editorial strategy and initiatives, and with channel teams to demonstrate how editorial content is driving performance.

· Brief all home page designs - working to align marketing, creative and merchandising priorities. Brief writers and edit all brand copy across .com and email.

· Edit all landing page copy and concept, review and create engaging, clear and innovative Burberry.com experiences, collaborating with digital designers and marketing teams to establish key stories.

· Manage, support and develop the team of copywriters.

PERSONAL PROFILE

· Background in digital publishing, with experience of luxury fashion editorial either for an apparel brand or fashion-orientated editorial publication.

· 8+ years writing experience and a solid knowledge of editing across multiple platforms - including social media channels.

· Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple work streams to navigate a complex landscape and plan ahead ensuring projects are delivered on time.

· Experience building new processes which turn complex into simple.

· Innate understanding of what makes a successful story, a razor-sharp eye for detail, and first-class copy-editing and subbing skills.

· The ability to thrive under pressure and to move seamlessly between creative and managerial tasks.

· Strong communication skills to convey ideas and concepts to senior stakeholders

· An understanding of best SEO principles and social media.

· Experience of managing a content team.
