POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for managing day to day development of performance knit and/or woven fabrics across all categories, that fit the aesthetics and requirements for the Calvin Klein brand.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:
  • Stay abreast of latest trends, sustainability, and emerging technology in textiles
  • Partner with Design to create and maintain seasonal raw material portfolios.
  • Research and develop innovative, on trend, and product-class relevant fabrics for performance apparel
  • Manage cost and speed maximization, identify leveraging opportunities
  • Manage raw material development supporting the RM & Supply Chain strategies. Identify and unlock duty-free and near shore opportunities at material level.
  • Assess and mitigate risk with regard to fabric development / selection, partner with TD and QA team for resolution. Provide technical expertise to Design on any limitation & propose solutions.
  • Ensure Offshore Raw Materials team is clear on seasonal brand direction and execution of seasonal fabrics
  • Oversee management and update of the digital and physical fabric library
  • Own business relationships with various cross-functional partners.
  • Build supplier partnerships to drive innovation and sustainability
  • Liaison for 3D, PLM, and other new system pilots & roll-outs, identify specific needs and recommend solutions.
  • Continually assess for any opportunities in process / calendar / tools and work x-functionally to build / update as needed.
  • Manage & evaluate seasonal KPI's for performance fabric development, adoption.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Raw Materials sourcing and development for performance apparel

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Textiles, Design, or related field strongly preferred

Skills:
  • Microsoft Suite, required
  • Web PLM preferred
  • Ability to travel as needed
