Department Description:

Tommy Hilfiger Menswear is a fashion-forward lifestyle collection within the Tommy Hilfiger family, which has a focus on premium Sportswear for Men. The designs are inspired by American classics, finished with a modern edge and fresh spirit.

Position Description and Responsibilities:

The Marketplace Senior Merchandiser - Apparel will:
  • Report into and partner with the TH World of Men's (WOM) Lifestyle's Sr Director of Marketplace Merchandising
  • Hold specific ownership of the Global Marketplace Merchandising Strategy for Global Apparel, translated in the form ofconsumer-centric seasonal Global Range Plan and Market-Specific strategies, and align with the overall Brand/WOM Divisional strategy and vision. Scope will include the three key pillars of WOM's Apparel (Sportswear, Tailored / Dress Casual, Hilfiger Sport).
  • Partner with Product Merchandising counterparts during key touchpoints; namely DCR.
  • Partner with Sr Director Marketplace Merchandising to lead the seasonal Go-to-Market process for Apparel, inclusive of Train-the-Trainer and Market Launch presentations, sales tools, and Digital Asset creation - in ensuring all Divisional and Product strategies are communicated clearly and effectively.
  • Partner with Sr Director Marketplace Merchandising and Markets in leading the segmentation project and efforts across the WOM.
  • Partner with Sr Director Marketplace Merchandising in leading the dimensionalization of Global Marketplace through segmentation and distribution.
  • Serve as the key WOM Apparel liaison with a segment of the total Global Markets; work with Market counterparts in identifying growth opportunities and translating them into concrete [Range Plan and SMU] strategies.
  • Liaise with the Omnichannel / DTC Teams in ensuring a clear, cohesive, and accurate translation of long-term label/gender positioning and initiatives. (e.g. within B&M, .com, etc.)
  • Ensure all channels are carrying commercial, brand-right seasonal Apparel collections that incorporate all key Divisional-level strategies and push the brand forward.
  • Partner with Sr Director Marketplace Merchandising and a segment of total Global Markets in building a network and relationship with Apparel Key Accounts, with the aim of becoming the WOM Market expert on the Global Marketplace and Global Consumer.
  • Gain understanding of Market trends (e.g. Consumer and Product trends) and Market performance by actively analyzing sell-in and sell-through information and insights (e.g. seasonal hind-sighting), in order to compose an optimal seasonal Apparel RP architecture and product mix.
  • Partner with Sr Director Marketplace Merchandising in presenting holistic seasonal Apparel Range Plan strategy and structure to Division at seasonal RP Handover Meeting, and during key seasonal touchpoints. (e.g. Collection Mapping, Sketch Review)
  • Work with B&P counterparts in completing all pre-Market buying commitments and projections.
  • Identify Apparel NOS growth opportunities and Direct Sales seasonal needs and opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate description:
  • Minimum 4 - 6 years experience in Global Merchandising; Global Brand and International Markets experience, preferably at HQ-level
  • Experience in Menswear on an International level and across all channels of distribution
  • Ability to strategically lead a large-scale business towards continuous growth while, at times, navigating through unchartered territory
  • An effective communicator and presenter who possesses a deep understanding of consumer preferences across key markets, emphasizes accountability in decisions, promotes continuous improvement and motivation via proven strong leadership, possesses high energy/urgency, and creative problem solving
  • Proven experience in strategic thinking; ability to work on business architecture and corresponding collection & key initiative roadmaps
  • Strong discernment to quickly identify new business opportunities; ability to convert into a clear, actionable business strategy
