Associate General Counsel

FIGS is looking for an Associate General Counsel to join the legal team! This role will report to the General Counsel. You'll collaborate with the legal team and FIGS management on a wide array of commercial matters, including intellectual property, regulatory compliance, brand collaborations and international compliance. The individual in this role will be expected to demonstrate sound judgment, balance legal and business risk, and proactively identify and resolve legal issues in a host of dynamic scenarios.

What you'll do:

• Responsible for all commercial matters, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating and managing a wide variety of vendor agreements, strategic partnership agreements, software agreements, as well as professional services and brand ambassador agreements.
• Collaborate with Legal and cross-functional partners to optimize deal flow and processes, improve automation, and explore future opportunities to improve legal and contract operations.
• Oversee protecting the company's intellectual property assets, including trademark and design patent strategy, clearance, preparation, filing and prosecution of such applications globally.
• Lead brand protection matters, including investigations, cease and desist letters, and other pre-litigation and litigation efforts.
• Oversee supply chain compliance and ESG initiatives
• Support the company's international growth, including launching strategic initiatives and corporate operations in new countries.
• Serve as a strategic partner to cross functional business partners and provide practical legal advice to support the Company's various business goals and objectives.
• Keep informed of new laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting the Company, and assisting with the development of policies and training as needed.
• Assist with other matters and projects as needed and as they arise, such as employment law, product liability, regulatory compliance, and legal disputes.

Qualifications:

• JD from accredited, top-tier law school
• California bar membership in good standing, or membership in good standing of another state bar
• 5+ years of experience in transactional work at a top-tier law firm with a preference for at least 1 year of in-house legal experience within a growing e-commerce business with experience navigating privacy laws and commercial issues in a commercial context. Intellectual property experience is a strong plus.
• Possesses strong organizational, interpersonal and follow-through skills.
• Performs work accurately with strong attention to detail.
• Able to meet deadlines and effectively prioritize a fast-paced and varied workload, effectively manage a variety of concurrent and shifting priorities.
