About The Team

The role of Senior Manager Process Optimization is part of the Calvin Klein Europe's ("CKE") Business Strategy team. This team is responsible for defining the strategic priorities for Calvin Klein Europe, and setting up and managing the optimal implementation of those strategic priorities across the organization. The team is the "strategy, and project management engine that is continuously planning for the future while instigating and leading insights-led optimization initiatives that future proof the organization and drive sustainable EBIT growth".

The team consists of a close, internationally diverse group of analytical and ambitious professionals with backgrounds in management consulting and / or the fashion industry. Due to the nature of the team's role, the team works together closely with Calvin Klein Europe's senior management: Calvin Klein Europe's President, and the different functional and divisional leaders. The team flexibly organizes itself against different projects: the various team members are working on one or more projects at a time, in varying set ups: together with other team members, together in a project structure with functional project team members, or as the strategy or project management support of a senior leader.

About The Role

Within the Business Strategy, the role of Senior Manager Process Optimization is primarily focused on all initiatives in the context of the continuous optimization and alignment of the Calvin Klein product creation process for Apparel, Underwear and Swimwear, Footwear and Accessories. The role thus is responsible for both:
  • Identifying process optimization opportunities
  • Managing the implementation of optimization ideas

A significant focus of the role should also be to drive the successful digitalization of the product creation process.

The role of Senior Manager Process Optimization reports directly into the team's leader, the Director Business Strategy and has one direct report.

This role provides an interesting career opportunity for Consultants or Process Optimization Experts with an ambition to transition into the fashion and apparel industry, and for fashion industry professionals that have a deep understanding of the product creation process and that would like to couple this expertise with functional process optimization and cross functional project management skills.

Core Responsibilities
  • Identifying process optimization opportunities
    • Conducting process performance analyses
    • Mapping and comparing the different creation processes
    • Collecting and structuring optimization ideas throughout the organization

  • Managing the process alignment and optimization initiatives
    • Setting up pragmatic, well-structured, cross functional project approaches with detailed plans outlining all roles, activities and tasks
    • Managing the cross functional projects - involving the broad group of functional stakeholders
    • Creating clear communication materials based on the outcomes (e.g., process maps with the roles of different functions, action plans for next steps, etc.)

About The Ideal Candidate
  • 8+ years of professional experience in either consulting, as a process optimization expert or functionally in the creation process within the industry
  • Degree from a leading Business school or University
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and hand-on
  • Impact focused with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Quick thinker: able to see the implications of changes in creation processes along the chain
  • Accurate and structured worker
  • Experience in detailed process mapping
  • Excellent communicator (simple, clear, logical messages) - able to adjust communication style to audience
  • Outstanding people management skills - also able to influence and drive for impact without a formal authority
  • Real team player that does not take her/him/themselves too seriously
  • Interest in the fashion industry
