Position Overview
The Design Assistant, Women's Performance Knits, Golf and RLX Sportswear is responsible for assisting the team by participating in all phases of the design development process from initial concept to final garment production (initial concept research, sketching, tech packs, trim research and development, overall office organization)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Extensively research tear sheets, mood images, trends, prints, colors, silhouettes, and performance attributes each season
* Assist in creating inspiring design presentation boards both physically and digitally each season
* Sketch in Illustrator/Photoshop - flat garment sketches, 2D and 3D CADs, layouts, line sheets, graphics, logos, trims, prints and patterns
* Assist in creating and completing design handoffs, tech packs and trim detail pages.
* Update sketches and CADs as changes occur throughout the design process and update design boards accordingly
* Assist in reviewing and commenting on incoming production samples, strike-offs, dips, and design submits
* Maintain thorough knowledge of the line/responsible for tracking/updating changes
* Attend all fittings and partner with PD/Technical team on all sketch and BOM updates
* Obtain and coordinate information between interdepartmental colleagues to achieve all calendar deadlines and milestones.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

* Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design preferred
* Technical skill requirements: Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
* Proficient in hand sketching and Illustration
* Design, color, and aesthetic sensibility
* PLM and Adobe XD experience a plus
* Works with sense of urgency and ability to complete tasks with speed, ease, and accuracy
* Excellent organization skills with ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously
* Strong attention to detail
* Team player with strong interpersonal skills
* Strong communication and follow-up skills: verbal and handwritten
* Passion for Performance Apparel, Active Sports, Innovative and Sustainable/Circular Design.
* Understanding of garment and fabric construction, preferably of performance knit garments and fabrications.
* Affinity and Passion for RL Family of Brands and Timeless Style
