The Import Logistics Associatesare responsible for monitoring and obtaining shipments' clearance from US Customs and other Government agencies in a timely and efficient manner, making sure all is in compliance with policies and procedures

What you can expect:

  • Liaison between broker and origin port to obtain and verify all import documentation needed for customs clearance
  • Review, revise, and verify customs entries.
  • Track and trace all import shipments through status reports, websites and email to ensure all shipments are imported in a timely fashion.
  • Track and trace small parcel shipments to all US locations (NY, Midway, and stores)
  • Ensure compliance with global import regulations (classification, valuation, quantity, origin declaration & Free Trade Agreement eligibility)
  • Communicate with our NY office regarding inquiries, advising of any exceptions and the current status of shipments.
  • Organize delivery of VDC and MD shipments to third party facilities
  • Code import freight invoices and audit for cost savings.
  • Audit ocean filings for ISF compliance.
  • Manage recordkeeping to ensure it is current, orderly, filed in itemized manner; including retention of all correspondence and other records relating to customs business.
  • Responsible for updating, querying and maintaining shipment data in the FTZ Monitor.
  • Coordinate with Receiving Department and broker to maximize space capacity and facilitate smooth flow of incoming shipments.
  • Examines various documents such as invoices, bills of lading, and shipping statements.
  • Prepare and report pending shipments daily to management and Receiving Dept.
  • Update Receiving Log daily.
  • Verify and audit customs data on broker's bills (classification, value)
  • Compile freight data for monthly scorecard and logistics summary.
  • Coordinate with broker to verify receipt of all electronic invoices.
  • Monitor shipments for service failures and report bi-weekly to management.


Your profile:

  • High School Degree or equivalent required
  • Completion of any industry-related courses is preferred
  • 1+ year(s) working experience at HUGO BOSS or in another distribution center environment
  • Previous experience in related fieldis preferred
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and expand beyond current role
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in a diverse environment; able to effectively communicate with multiple levels of the organization
  • Must be comfortable working with individuals of various languages and cultures Flexible; Able to prioritize multiple initiatives with a strict focus on deadlines; strong sense of urgency
  • Fantastic team player, able to partner with associates throughout the organization
  • Strong knowledge of the Savannah DC WMOS (EWM), SAP, outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Power Point
